Last week at the PTG someone asked me about best practices for changing or deprecating default values for configuration options. Unfortunately I failed to make any notes at the time and I'm embarrassed to say that I don't remember who it was or exactly what the use case was. If that was you, could you let me know? Another potentially related case came up, and I think I have an approach that works for both situations, but before I throw around a lot of details I want to make sure I've thought it through.
