Re: [Openstack-operators] Berlin Community Contributor Awards

2018-10-01 Thread Kendall Nelson
Hello :)

I wanted to bring this to the top of people's inboxes as we have three
weeks left to submit community members[1].

I can think of a dozen people right now that deserve an award and I am sure
you all could do the same. It only takes a few minutes and its an easy way
to make sure they get the recognition they deserve. Show your appreciation
and nominate one person.

[Openstack-operators] Berlin Community Contributor Awards

2018-08-24 Thread Kendall Nelson
Hello Everyone!

As we approach the Summit (still a ways away thankfully), I thought I would
kick off the Community Contributor Award nominations early this round.

For those of you that already know what they are, here is the form[1].

For those of you that have never heard of the CCA, I'll briefly explain
what they are :) We all know people in the community that do the dirty
jobs, we all know people that will bend over backwards trying to help
someone new, we all know someone that is a savant in some area of the code
we could never hope to understand. These people rarely get the thanks they
deserve and the Community Contributor Awards are a chance to make sure they
know that they are appreciated for the amazing work they do and skills they
have.

So go forth and nominate these amazing community members[1]! Nominations
will close on October 21st at 7:00 UTC and winners will be announced at the
OpenStack Summit in Berlin.

Hey :)

I created all the puppet openstack repos in the storyboard-dev envrionment
and made a project group[1]. I am struggling a bit with finding all of your
launchpad projects to perform the migrations through, can you share a list
of all of them?

Re: [Openstack-operators] [openstack-dev] [puppet] migrating to storyboard

2018-08-14 Thread Kendall Nelson
Hello!

The error you hit can be resolved by adding launchpadlib to your tox.ini if
I recall correctly..

also, if you'd like, I can run a test migration of puppet's launchpad
projects into our storyboard-dev db (where I've done a ton of other test
migrations) if you want to see how it looks/works with a larger db. Just
let me know and I can kick it off.

As for a time to migrate, if you all are good with it, we usually schedule
for Friday's so there is even less activity. Its a small project config
change and then we just need an infra core to kick off the script once the
change merges.

few weeks.

We also wanted to remind you all of the Travel Support Program. We are
again doing a two phase selection. The first deadline is approaching: July
1st. At this point we have less than a dozen applicants so if you need it
or even think you need it, I urge you to apply here[1].

Also! Reminder that we have a finite number of rooms in the hotel block so
please book early to make sure you get the discounted rate before they run
out. You can book those rooms here[2] (pardon the ugly URL).

Can't wait to see you all there!

P.S. Gonna try to do a game night again since you all seemed to enjoy it so
much last time :)

ask the challenging questions, those that don't get enough recognition for
their hard work or anyone else you think deserves a medal! You can nominate
more than one person as well :)

Winners will be announced publicly at the ceremony, but also notified
individually a week or so prior to the Summit.

Here is the nomination form:

Re: [Openstack-operators] Migration to StoryBoard

2017-03-06 Thread Kendall Nelson
Hello Saverio,

Yes, eventually you will be filing bugs in StoryBoard instead of Launchpad.
There is no set date yet, the migration process is just starting (smaller
projects with less cross project issues are going first). Later we will
have a larger migration with the rest of the projects. I just wanted to
make you aware of the new tool so you could look around and get used to it
ahead of time. Also, if you come across any bugs while you are getting used
to the new tool you can file them there in the openstack-infra/storyboard
project.

Let me know if you have any more questions!

[Openstack-operators] Migration to StoryBoard

2017-03-03 Thread Kendall Nelson
Hello!

As you may or may not know, OpenStack is in the process of migrating from
using Launchpad as our task tracker to StoryBoard. This has been a long
time effort and we are finally getting projects lined up to make the switch.

To keep you all in the loop about the new tool, I wanted to take a moment
to share with you the information we have been sharing with the projects
themselves. We have a variety of blogposts we have been writing to help
educate OpenStack users and developers about the differences between
Launchpad[1][2] and Storyboard and posts about why we are making the
switch[3].

As storyboard is being worked on by OpenStack community members we always
welcome feedback on the tool so if you are interested in playing around
with the sandbox environment[4], want to share thoughts in one of our
weekly meetings[5], are interested in the documentation[6], or just want to
see the real thing and how its being used [7] please do!
