Re: [openthinclient-user] Boot Problem
Hi Jan, Thank you for your prompt reply. I meant that I cannot boot even one client so ALL clients are having the same problems even a test client I have set up in Vmware. The clients and the server are on the same network and same segment so there should be no router or firewall between them. The windows OTC server has it's firewall completely turned off for the time being. I to feel it must be a network issue but I don't know where to start looking for the problem. Any ideas ? Hi Pippo, And you state that the SAME clients and OTC server worked in your office segment ? How close to the OTC server can you physically get in your production network ? Can you connect a client directly to the same switch as the server is connected to and there try it out ? If it works in the office environment but not in the production environment with the same clients and server it just has to be in the network. b.r. Or the client cant find pxe information and stop booting after timeout for dhcp/pxe response ? Perhaps an screenshot might be helpful. Hi Jan, Thank you for your follow up support. Both the OTC Server(2008 R2) and the thin client are Vmware VMs on the same Vmware server. They were both on a test Vmware host in a test isolated network environment where they worked nicely and I have now transferred them to the production network on a production Vmware host but this boot problem cropped up. Pippo, Have you looked at the OTC Server logs ? Does the client requests reach it at all ? I don't know, but just a guess: might the MAC address be influenced by the transfer of the client from the office environment to production ? Are there any PXE clients pending in the OTC Server Manager ? b.r. Re: [openthinclient-user] No sound on OTC
Thanks for the response. I did a poor job of explaining. I bought the hp clients just yesterday. They were admin locked and as of my post I had not been able to get into the thinconnect settings to be able to use thinconnect. However, I did PXE boot them to OTC. Subsequently I was able to just flash the devices back to a defaullt state. So, with thinconnect I have audioand video. With OTC I have video only, but the video streams much better than with thinconnect. Most of the training we stream is really audio with some graphics. This makes the thinconnect an option. That said, I would prefer to use OTC. So, I still would like to find oht why I dont have audio with OTC. Thanks again for the response. Thanks for the response. I do have all of those set appropriately. Audio is maxed. Remote audio is enabled, it lets you know in the mixer when it is not and the rdesktop is set to audio=yes.
