if you did not change the description of the realm, it should display

Ceres which is 1.1

or Consus which is v2

or check the Installed applications and check the base application it should
shows the version number in the description.

if you are running on linux open a terminal and type sudo
/etc/init.d/openthinclient restart and it will state the version while
restarting the server.

[openthinclient-user] Screen Resolution

2014-12-09 Thread Ahmed Nabil
Dears, I can't change the screen resolution on OTC v2.

I tried adding the preinstalled devices, but whatever I do the resolution in
1024x768

Xrandr output is as follows

Xrandr: Failed to get size of gamma for output default

Screen 0: minimum 640 x 480, current 1024 x 768, maximum 1024 x 768

Default connected 1024x768+0+0 +mm x 0mm

1024x768 0.0*

800x600 0.0

640x480 0.0

Lspci output

VGA compatible controller: Intel Corporation Atom Processor D2xxx/N2xxx
Integrated Graphics Controller (rev 09)

Tried to play with xrandr without any hope:

xrandr --newmode best

xrandr --addmode default

xrandr --output default --mode best

the screen flickers and nothing happens.

Tried adding as an additional kernel parameter

Vga=1366x768

Booting fails with new screen to choose from the available resolutions I've
chose another resolution of 1400x900, it working during the booting process,
but when the OS loaded and logged in the screen resolution falls back to
1024x768.

Need help :)

I have tree hardware types. That’s not the problem.
The problem is that the dropdown which earlier contained one item, namely
“client” is now empty.

I you add a unknow mac-adress, you first have to give name, description and
type (this is not a hardware type, hardware type comes later, but I can’t
 get that far anymore).
Before type showed a dropdown with one item, namely client (an item I never
created myself, it was there, now it is gone, so I can’t proceed).

I noticed that even add a new hardware type isn’t working anymore, same
problem, there is a dropdown for type (before it also contained one item,
namely hardwaretype), now it contains nothing, so there is nothing to choose
from, I also can’t add something, so I am stuck.

For some reason all the type values disappeared afther updating the packages.
And therefor I can’t add new client, hardware types.
I just need a fix that puts that item “client” again in the dropdown for adding
clients and “hardwaretype” in the dropdown for adding new hardware
 types.
These were all values that were there by default, and now are gone, empty
dropdowns and I really can’t find any means of filling them back up.

It all used to work perfect, before the updates.

Met vriendelijke groeten

Betreff: [openthinclient-user] Problem adding new clients afther updating
packages

Hello,

I updated the packaged of my Openthinclient Consus.
Now I can’t add new clients anymore.

If I look for a new client under PXE-Client, click on it and choose edit, I get
the following:
Name:
Description:
Type:

But the dropdown of Type is empty, and without choosing a type I can’t continue.
I can enter name, and description.
I get “a type must be chosen” message, but there is no way of choosing a type,
the dropdown is empty.

How can is solve this?

Thanks in advance.

Maybe it's just easier to try and put java into consus. Iirc you can create
custom packages for applications like skype or alike, maybe it works with
Java. But don't ask me how.

There is no root user available.

Use the user tcos and the password 0pen%TC like Thomas mentioned.

Hi Ahmed,

the default password ist 0pen%TC - please note that the first character is a
zero, not an O like Openthinclient ;-)

 Hi Steffen,
I have installed the new image from the link you post and created a
container from that images but when running the command #docker logs
Container-ID to get the SSH username Password to connect to that
container,i can not get any INFO...the command gets executed without
output !..is there is a default username / password to connect to the
 OTC Docker container ?!
 Best Regards

sorry forgot the link to the new docker container, either go for the

  Hi Mahmoud,

I'm sorry that haven't got on to this earlier, I changed the docker
  development
  http://wiki.openthinclient.org/m/index.php?title=Pakete-Entwickelna
bit. Thus the otc docker container you are trying is kind of obsolete.
  Unfortunately the documentation
  http://wiki.openthinclient.org/m/index.php?title=Pakete-Entwickeln is
not translated as of yet, the commands are stated clearly though and with
the help of a translating help it still may be comprehensible. (
  translate.google.com ?).

Roughly said, I limited the scope of the docker instance to the binaries
only and data like packages, configs are persistently mounted to your
$HOME. Thus it is much easier to harvest builds and distribute packages
  to
different places. openssh is still part of game but not mandatory.

  Greets!

  H everyone,
I have installed docker and downloaded the OTC image and created a
container from that image and connected to the container using the SSH
  credentials of the container.
But i can not get root access to execute commands like creating
directories or changing permissions and instead get
a Permission denied message..so what is the root password in the OTC
docker container or in other words how to solve such issue and get root
access to the OTC docker container...?!

  Thanks in advance...
