Re: [openthinclient-user] RDP log on TIme

2015-05-04 Thread Thomas Bayard
Hi Andreas,

To change the setting you are talking about follow these steps on the
terminal server :

1. Goto: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Contro
l\TerminalServer\WinStations\RDP-Tcp

2. Create DWORD

3. Name: LogonTimeout (DWORD)

4. Value: Specifies the time in seconds - Decimal Value 300 its 5 minutes,
3600 is 1hr

The default is 30 seconds, which is why the window is closing

Kind regards

Thomas

user logs-on to the Server within 20 seconds the Client shuts down. Is it
possible to increase this period or even switch it off completely?

[openthinclient-user] Consus - Shortcuts

2014-05-21 Thread Thomas Bayard
Hi,

In the Minerva version I could define a lot of keyboard shortcuts in the
desktop application, but in Minerva I could only define the shortcut for
window change and start a terminal window.

As example, one important function we need in our office is to use the print
screen key (in a RDP session) together with a print screen tool (lighshot)
and when I cannot deactivate the print screen key in the desktop
application, this tool is not usable.

It would be great if you could adding this possibility also in the desktop
application of Minerva.

Best regards

Thomas

Re: [openthinclient-user] change pc name

2013-11-28 Thread Thomas Bayard
Hi Alexander, Andreas,

I have found now a workaround, just changed the following entry in the file
wrapper.conf

wrapper.app.parameter.2=-b0.0.0.0

to

wrapper.app.parameter.2=-b127.0.0.1

So the update manager is working again, but after this change you can only
start the manager locally with http:\\127.0.0.1:8080 or
http:\\localhost:8080

So it seams that I have some DNS problems with my test environment, but I
not yet found the reason, because the pc name is correctly in our DNS server
and also nslookup is working.

Hello Thomas,

please describe the problem more detailed.

Isn't the manager able to connect to the realm?

Or shows the branch in the realm something like can't init directory ?

Changing the hostname is usually no problem. But after you have changed the
hostname, you have to restart the openthinclient service and then restart
the openthinclient manager.

Did you restart it?

By the way: Please ensure that the DNS is working. Check if the new hostname
is correct set in your DNS, also the reverse (PTR) setting!

P.S.: The hint from Andreas is good - for data backup, you should anyway
periodically make a LDIF export.

Regards.

[openthinclient-user] change pc name

2013-11-21 Thread Thomas Bayard
Hi,

I have copied the production openthinclient server pc (Win XP on a Hyper-V)
to make a test enviroment and changing the SID and PC name.

But when I change the pc name of the open thin client server then the update
manager does not working any more, when I change the pc name back, it is
working again.

Do I have to change some config file or so? As I see in the log, I think the
reason is that the old name is still in the database.

Best regards

Thomas

[openthinclient-user] Offline Install

2013-10-10 Thread Thomas Bayard
Hi all,

I want to install the OpenTC system with localboot on the computers from our
branch office to connect to our local LAN terminalserver. I want to use also
our existing OpenTC server in our local LAN for it.

So is there are a possibility to install the OpenTC system offline so that I
don't have to load the OpenTC, for doing the localboot install, over the
Internet line? Or would it be anyway better to install a OpenTC server in
the branch Office locally?

Best regards

Thomas Bayard
