Re: [Openvas-discuss] OpenVAS credentials download empty package empty (0 bytes)

2018-10-15 Thread MontrealPaul_Openvas-discuss
Thank you, Christian, your information helped, and I was able to generate a
Windows authentication package (still no icon for Debian, though).

I ran the "openvas-check-setup" script (again), and this time noted that it
suggested I install "rpm", which I did. (Just below that, it said: "OK:
nsis found, LSC credential package generation for Microsoft Windows targets
is likely to work."... possibly, but obviously not) .

I looked at the documentation for which you sent a link, and it appears to
be aimed at "roll your own" readers, whereas I installed Kali from their
image. It was supposed to "include" OpenVAS, but didn't so I installed via
apt-get. The documentation to which I was referring was that in the
application itself, and some at docs.greenbone.net.

Nevertheless, the lines you highlighted helped, as they showed I needed to
install rpm (which I just did), fakeroot (was already installed), and
alien. Once I had all three, I was able to generate a non-empty Windows
package (which I have yet to test).

Danke schön!
