Re: [Openvas-discuss] unable to sync scap

2018-05-30 Thread Noam Birnbaum
I've narrowed it down a little bit further:

It appears that 89.146.224.58 is the OpenVAS feed server. I captured
packets and determined that the Greenbone SCAP sync assistant uses port 873
TCP for communication via rsync.

I can ping 89.146.224.58 from my Kali host.

However, I cannot telnet in on port 873. My best guess is
that 89.146.224.58 is blocking my IP address.

What can be done?

Thanks,
Noam

I'm able to ping 89.146.224.58.

I've tried this today from two separate OpenVAS servers in two locations.
We're not using any proxies.

Is the feed down for the US holiday? :)

[Openvas-discuss] Unable to Sync NVTs

2017-07-24 Thread Thomas Dainat
I have just installed OpenVas on kali linux. The version that was installed
with apt-get install openvas was v7.02. Scanner engine is 5.1.1

Install went fine and I am able to log in to the Web UI.

When I attempt to sync the NVTs (as there are 0 installed) I get the following
error:
Resolving dl.greenbone.net (dl.greenbone.net) ... 89.146.224.58 (plus ipv6
address)
Connecting to dl.greenbone.net (dl.greenbone.net) | 89.146.224.58 |:80 ...
failed: Connection refused.

I understand that the community NVTs should be available for download.

Is there anything I can do to update the nvt's?

[Openvas-discuss] Unable to Sync

2017-02-20 Thread system cambium
Team,

I have been trying to update library of openvas using "openvas-nvt-sync",
but unfortunately, it fails to update.

Tried multiple methods to install it based on solutions poped-up in google
search. Still had no success.

Below are the logs:

sit-india@sitindia-Latitude-E5440:~$ sudo openvas-nvt-sync
[sudo] password for sit-india:
