[opnfv-tech-discuss] [Infra][releng][Compass] Add repo for compass4nfv project

2017-10-30 Thread Xueyifei (Yifei Xue)
Hi Aric and Fatih

I'd like to add another two repos (compass-core and compass-offline) for
compass project. Would you please tell me what I need to do in Infra or Releng?
Or is there any wiki page describing this?
Thank you.

Thanks
Yifei Xue

[opnfv-tech-discuss] Euphrates release community awards

2017-10-30 Thread Raymond Paik
All,

With the Euphrates release behind us. I'd like to kick off the nomination
period for community awards. As we did following the Danube release, we
have the following award categories (with the number of winners in
parentheses).

   - Code development (3)
   - Community support/leadership (3)
   - Integration (3)
   - Testing (3)
   - Interns (2)

If you're interested in nominating community members for any of the
categories above, could you send them to me by Noon Pacific Time on
November 10th (Friday)?

After I receive the nominations, I'll be sending out a SurveyMonkey link
for voting to opnfv-tech-discuss.

Thanks,

Ray

[opnfv-tech-discuss] [Infra] Infra WG Meeting Minutes - Oct. 30th

2017-10-30 Thread Jack Morgan

October 30
Agenda:

  Status Updates

  PDF, IDF , SDF efforts
  LaaS and Dashboard integration
  Infra documentation on RTD

  https://gerrit.opnfv.org/gerrit/#/c/45089/

  Hardware Resources

Long duration stress testing - INFRA-154
  vPOD for container4nfv - INFRA-185

  General purpose docker build capability

who owns docker builds for releases? historically, docker
build have been created by projects
community needs to create a proposal to help solve this
which includes gathering requirements and defining the
process to getting docker builds created/removed, etc

Logging facility (e.g. for ODL, OVS, etc.)

  problem statement - when debugging
failures, it would helpful to have a central location to
  collect logs
this is helpful both for centralizing logs for upstream
communities to investigate and for defect reporting
purposes

  POD allocation within OPNFV Community

does two POD per installer model make sense still?
Intel lab has found that CI POD users are not using
hardware resources as designed or not at all

  Review actions items

Minutes (link)

  Status Update

  vPOD has been provided container4nfv
  from Huawei lab
  this is the patch, https://gerrit.opnfv.org/gerrit/#/c/46283,
INFRA-185 can be closed
  Nokia lab is providing hardware
resources for Long duration stress testing (INFRA-154)

  general purpose docker build capability

docker builds have been part of
  releases since Brahmaputra
docker builds have a script to build
them - the desire is to have this script be owned by
  releng
  https://gerrit.opnfv.org/gerrit/#/c/46111/
docker script will create a new doicker
  build per patch in gerrit
need to think about including docker
builds with releases especially as they grow over time
the proposal is releng project own the
script with test-wg helping support it
  CristinaPauna mentions that there are
those in the community who don't know about how to use
  this script
this means there someone from releng
will need to help support community by documentation and
  user help
plus a process to how we can get
  changes made to the script

  logging facilitites

  https://github.com/opnfv/releng/blob/master/modules/opnfv/utils/ovs_logger.py
there is a python script to collect logs for ovs
there was discussion on how to solve
  this logging problem
like having the jump server collect the
logs or have a script to collects logs when there is a
  failure
  https://git.opnfv.org/yardstick/tree/etc/yardstick/nodes/zte_pod1.yaml
example of node file, with this
information we can access any node with ssh/scp
how logs are collected for armband, see
  patch https://gerrit.opnfv.org/gerrit/#/c/44133
  Julien-zte proposes to use what
Openstack does - use a stash log server (a central log
  server)

  POD allocation within OPNFV communtity

Julien-zte mentions that until we have
dynamic CI still need two POD per installer
radez mentions that they still need both POD - daily jobs
are running 24hrs a day for example for test frameworks
timezone change for next meeting - see

meeting on Oct. 18

Hi Kubi

I am referring to this e-mail thread in today’s test-wg call and here is the
link to etherpad: https://etherpad.opnfv.org/p/HA_Testcases_F_Release where we
are collating the High Availability test scenarios that we wanted to target for
F release. As I understood from today’s call that you are also doing the
similar exercise (by collecting inputs from OpenStack QA project and other
sources) and it would be good if we can combine all these findings into the
above etherpad.

Thanks
Srikanth

[opnfv-tech-discuss] [announce] Reminder on the TSC meeting time (for people in Europe this week)

2017-10-30 Thread Raymond Paik
All,

Just a quick reminder as the Summer Time ended in Europe this past Sunday.
The TSC meeting is at 6am Pacific Time (13:00 CET) and the Daylight Savings
Time is still in effect in N. America.

So for people in Europe, the TSC meeting will be an hour earlier this
week. For other parts of the world, there should be no change in meeting
time this week until the Daylight Savings Time ends in N. America this
Sunday (November 5th).

Thanks,

Ray
