Re: Should we move from Confluence to Github Wiki?

2023-04-18 Thread Grzegorz Grzybek
+1 for adoc

That was my plan for Pax Web 8 too:
https://github.com/ops4j/org.ops4j.pax.web/blob/main/todo.txt#L37 - see,
still not `+`...
There's even (quite untouched since I started) skeleton of
https://github.com/ops4j/org.ops4j.pax.web/blob/main/pax-web-manual/src/docs/asciidoc/pax-web-dev-guide.adoc
and prepared asciidoctor-maven-plugin configuration:
https://github.com/ops4j/org.ops4j.pax.web/blob/main/pax-web-manual/pom.xml#L52

But ... I didn't have time to document everything. Definitely it's still in
my plans thought.

kind regards

+1 I like the idea of asciidoc and then having GitHub host the docs using GH
Pages.

Which confluence contents are we talking about?

Online tools are great, but I'd say the less we depend on them for
documentation related areas, the better it is. Changes in pax web and
transition to asciidoc was very valuable step. Ideally each "alive" ops4j
project could do it. Do we have other repositories which require similar
migration?

Hi all,

as we switched to Github Issues a while ago (thanks again Grzegorz), I was
wondering about the Wikis (Confluence based at the moment). Should those be
migrated over as well to have everything in one place?

Does anyone have any experience about migrating the pages?

Greetings
