 *Job Description:*

 *Education/Skills and Experience:*
· Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business Administration,
Information Technology or related field preferred
· *10 years of experience in a dedicated analyst role focusing on
data analysis, profiling, and quality improvement, expert level skills in
these areas.*
· 4-6 years of experience working on large, mission-critical
initiatives
· *In-depth experience with SQL (Structured Query Language)*
· Solid knowledge of Microsoft SQL server tools supporting
predictive modeling and advanced data analysis a plus.
· Familiarity with mainframe and flat file data sources (defined
via COBOL copybooks) and query tools (Example: EZTrieve)
· Working knowledge of MDX a plus
· Understanding of data modeling concepts and ability to detect and
document relational data integrity rules
· Experience with formal data quality practices and improvement
initiatives.
· Solid knowledge of standard software development lifecycle
methodologies
· In-depth knowledge of data warehouse lifecycle concepts, specific
exposure to Kimball methodology a plus

*Job Duties and Responsibilities:*
· Reviews project and service work for impacts to the creation,
storage and consumption of data
· Ensures all data related deliverables conform to data management
standards, and do no harm to the accuracy, currency, completeness,
understandability or accessibility of data
· Defines required data deliverables and data development resources
for project and service work. In addition to delivering relevant artifacts,
may mentor or coach junior resources in production of the same.
· Ensures that proper testing and configuration practices are
followed in regards to data-related deliverables.
· Supports internal and external reporting initiatives
· Defines standard practices for analysis and profiling business
data; performs consulting and profiling activity on projects or large
initiatives.
· Will create and maintain management / configuration practices for
tools and deliverables related to the above
· Mentorship and oversight of other developers as required
· Defines and manages mechanisms for capturing and publishing data
quality measures.
· Tracks and reports on progress towards data quality objectives
· Defines mechanisms for remediation of data quality issues or
responses to new / unpredicted data behavior
· Keeps abreast of new developments in technology, tools and
techniques related to data analysis and data quality control / improvement.
Regularly reviews data analysis technology portfolio for refresh as needed.
· Ensures that quality data and effective tools are available to
support the predictive modeling objectives of our corporate actuarial
department.
· Other duties as assigned

Availability to provide coverage during off-business hours when necessary.

support the requirements

Basic Auth)
