Hello gurus,I need some help here. I am trying to get
some understanding of the following:- (Pardon my stupidity, if you can call
this)1. What are chained rows?2. What is index/table
partitioning?3. In case of getting a table fragmentation report, what
does the following have a physical meaning:-pct_free
?pct_used?it says Rows = 130750,?but my actual table has got
more no. rows than that, how did that happen, even though I just ANALYSED the
table, I did a Estinate statistics though, does it matter, not a compute
statistics.block_alloc?block hwm?MB alloc?MB
hwm?%hwm bytes used?TIArajaGet 250 color

hi,
1.row chaining: see oracle8i concepts page 4-10.
2. partition: physically partition a table into several small tables, and logically
they are one table.
see detailed difinition at: oracle8i concepts 11-2.

2001-08-08 Thread Viraj Luthra

 Hello,

I read Oracle concepts, and came to know most of the questions (chap 10 and chap 25
and chap 11. Good one thank God I know some thing, it used to drive me nuts what the
heck they are.

Any way gurus some questions are still unanswered:-

1.
it says Rows = 130750,?
but my actual table has got more no. rows than that, how did that happen, even
though I just ANALYSED the table, I did a Estinate statistics though, does it matter,
not a compute statistics.

2. terms like block_alloc?

block hwm?

MB alloc?

MB hwm?

Please help.

thanks.
