*Automation Test Engineer Job Description*



Top 3: experience w/ cucumber/gherkin, RESTful, TDD/ATDD



We are looking for a Test Engineer responsible for developing quality test
cases and building automated test scripts. This includes testing complex
groups of back-end services and their client-end counterparts. Your primary
responsibility will be to analyze, design, and prepare all the information
necessary for testing these services, and coordinate with the rest of the
team working on different layers of the infrastructure. Thus, a commitment
to collaborative problem solving, sophisticated design, and product quality
is essential.



Responsibilities



•         Interact with product management, project management and
development teams to develop a strong understanding of the project and
testing objectives

•         In a Test-Driven environment, create end-to-end test cases from
functional descriptions

•         Design, build, and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable
Cucumber Test Cases & code

•         Execute and analyze automation test results.

•         Identify bottlenecks and bugs

•         Help maintain code quality, organization, and automatization

•         Document and track defects

•         Think out of the box, beyond processes and tools

•         Participate in troubleshooting and understanding of issues with
different teams to drive towards root cause identification and resolution

•         Support production deployment of applications and perform
“validation testing” during the off-hours maintenance windows

•         Recommend best practices; identify gaps and areas for improvement

•         Mentor junior test engineers



Technical Skills



•         Relevant work experience in development and/or testing role.

•         Familiar with various design and architectural patterns

•         Good experience with different Operating Systems, with emphasis
on Unix variants

•         Thorough knowledge and understanding designing automated testing
frameworks using TDD, ATDD, and/or BDD and best practices for automated
application testing

•         Expert writing user stories, use cases by applying test case
design techniques

•         Expert writing test scenarios in Gherkin

•         Experience implementing tests with the Cucumber testing Framework

•         Proficient understanding of code versioning tools, such as Git or
Bitbucket

•         Familiarity with build tools such as Maven, Bamboo, or Jenkins

•         Ability to document and track defects as well as produce detailed
reports using defect tracking tools such as JIRA.

•         Extensively worked on various Testing types such as Integration,
System, Functional, Regression, Sanity, Smoke, User-interface (GUI), User
Acceptance Testing (UAT), Performance Testing

•         Proficiency with SOAPUI for WSDL Validation

•         Experienced with Web Services, SOAP, RESTful, WSDL technologies



Business Skills



•         Expertise with Agile project methodologies

•         Familiarity with continuous integration

•         Quick learner with an attention to detail

•         Good communication skills and organization
