*Job Title* Sr. Data Modeler w/Teradata *Project Location* UT-Utah/Salt Lake City *Duration* 6 months /Contract * Skills Required and Job Description:* • Profile and analyze data in operational system databases to understand data relationships • Document current operational DBs data models • Work with enterprise data architect and BI development team to create dimensional data models (conceptual, logical, and physical) per subject area • Conduct data model reviews with developers, architects, business analysts and subject matter experts to collaborate and gain consensus • Define standards for data modeling • Evolve the EDW data models over time and work with developers and power users to assure it is leveraged accurately • Enforce data modeling standards • Create source-to-target (Ops databases– to – EDW) data mappings • Drive metadata documentation and make it available to those that are dependent upon it • Work with application/BI/functional teams on creating and maintaining an enterprise data dictionary to document the use of data elements • Responsible for coordinating database changes/updates during migrations to the QA environment for testing and then to the production environment Core required skills: • Experience with a modeling tool such as Erwin Data Modeler, ER Studio, or Data Architect • Experience working with large organizations to implement large scale & complex data warehousing projects • Experience architecting, planning, and implementing data warehouses • Experience performing conceptual, logical, and physical data modeling • Experience writing SQL in Oracle and SQL Server Databases • 4+ years of experience generating database objects (i.e. tables, indexes, constraints, views, materialized views) using a modeling tool • Solid understanding of various data warehousing methodologies (Kimball, Inmon, Data Vault) • Solid understanding of Data Management & Data Warehousing concepts and techniques • Must have a good understanding of extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) activities • Experience with iterative/agile development environments Expereince with Teradata is a must -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Oracle-Projects" group.
