*Position:- Network Engineer* *Location:- Lansing, Michigan* *Duration:- 12+ Months* *MOI:- Telephonic + Skype* *Need Only USC* *Primary Role:* · The Senior Network Engineer is responsible for planning, evaluating, architecting, implementing, and administering Local Area Networks (LAN), Wide Area Networks (WAN), firewalls, and other network infrastructure systems. *Responsibilities: * · Participates in developing, overseeing, planning, and coordination of work assignments, projects, internal policies, procedures, guidelines, and standards · Coordinates and administers multiple brands of switches, routers, firewall engines, and VPN infrastructure across the Enterprise at multiple sites. · Coordinates, plans, designs, implements, and administers the security/subnets/Vlans/cabling infrastructure to support eCommerce and other Internet or internal systems and administers trunk groups and virtual switches for various virtual server systems. · Coordinates and engineers connections to all Enterprise sites, including fail-over and disaster recovery circuits and participates in D.R. activities. · Coordinates and administers network-based services such as wireless, workstation security agents, access control, intrusion detection, and WAN optimization services. · Coordinates and administers TCP/IP on the network including design and tracking of the IP infrastructure and DHCP systems. · Coordinates and engineers administrative systems and performs administrative functions to ensure viable production environment including bandwidth monitoring, syslog, and content filtering. · Perform other related assigned duties as necessary to complete the Primary Job Responsibilities as described above. *Requirements: * · Position requires a bachelor’s degree with relevant coursework in computer science, network engineering, or information systems and seven years' related work experience in network administration and an advanced networking certification (CCNP – Cisco Certified Network Professional). Will accept any suitable combination of education, training, or experience. · Position requires knowledge of the following at varying levels depending on assignments: Network hardware including Cisco stackable switches, chassis switches, Enterprise routers, small remote routers; network communication protocols (TCP/IP, DHCP, etc.), network communication hardware (LAN, WAN, routers, switches, cabling, etc.), network topologies (Ethernet, VLANs, MPLS, VPNs, ISDN, etc.), network security infrastructure (Cisco ASAs, Firewall Services Modules, Checkpoint firewalls, exploits, viruses, etc.), server operating systems (Windows, Linux, Netware, etc.), directory services, integration, network based printing systems, and telecommunication hardware and software (PBXs, IP phones, etc.); experience with network management systems including HP OpenView, Cisco MARS, Orion, and WebSense; ability to analyze and resolve complex problems; use independent judgment and communicate effectively with internal and external contacts. · Position requires the ability to provide on-call support twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week. Off-Shift work and weekend work may be needed. Occasional travel may be required to some Enterprise sites.
