Configures, analyzes, designs, develops, and maintains ERP program codes and applications to support business processes and functions. Works on elements of large, complex installations. Performs all aspects of programming assignments and assists with systems design. Fully knowledgeable in ERP programming languages. Applies knowledge and experience with technology and application development methodologies to perform basic systems analysis techniques, testing, debugging, file design and storage. Project Scope: Human Resources System (HRS) is the University of Wisconsin System’s project to replace its legacy human resources/payroll/benefits system with Oracle's PeopleSoft Human Capital Management (HCM) software. HRS is currently on PeopleSoft HCM 9.0 and PeopleTools 8.52 with an upgrade to HCM 9.2 and PeopleTools 8.54 in progress. This position is for a PeopleSoft Developer to lead the coding and integration efforts in support of the FLSA project which encompasses the technical (system changes) to HRS PeopleSoft HCM 9.0 and the upgrade instance of HCM 9.2. *This position may also provide development support for HRS (HCM 9.0) and the HCM 9.2 Upgrade Project. Background of FLSA Changes The U.S. Department of Labor (DOL) issued substantial changes to the federal Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA). The changes will have a major impact on our campus community by moving many of our staff from salaried to hourly employees. The changes to this federal requirement include the following key provisions: • Employees who earn less than $47,476 annually or $913 weekly will become eligible for overtime for any hours they work more than 40 in a work week. The current thresholds are $23,660 annually/$455 weekly, • The $47,476 FLSA threshold will be adjusted every three years based on 40th percentile of full-time salaried workers in the lowest-wage Census region, • The compliance date for these new FLSA provisions is December 1, 2016.
