 Technical Requirements:

Minimum of  five years of experience in installation, configuration, and
operational support of VMware products; including vCenter, ESXi, SSO
Server, Site Recovery Manager
Proven experience planning, deploying and maintaining VMware’s NSX software
defined networking solution.  Troubleshoot NSX Manager, NSX Controller,
Distributed Logical Routers, and other Edge devices
Experience planning, deploying and maintaining VMware’s vRealize Automation
(formerly vCloud Automation Center)
Experience planning, deploying and maintaining VMware’s Log Insight
Experience utilizing vRealize Operations to generate meaningful data
metrics and automate repeatable tasks
Familiarity with underlying storage and network environments, including
SAN, NFS, Distributed Switches, VLANs, and Firewalls
Familiarity with Linux OS and troubleshooting skills required to SSH into
an ESXi Host and determine root cause analysis
Hardware support experience racking, cabling and labeling news hosts.
UCS blade experience preferred.
Dell and HP rackmount platform familiarity a plus



 Additional Skills:

Strong communication skills, ability to effectively communicate both orally
and through written presentations
Must be able to express findings and recommendations clearly to differing
levels of business and technical management at the customer and MassIT,
both verbally and in writing
A demonstrated willingness to learn and enthusiasm for technology



 Certifications:

VMware certifications strongly preferred, ideally in cert version 6: VCA \
VCP 6 (Datacenter, Cloud, and Networking).
CCNA, ITIL, Microsoft certifications a plus

*SUMMARY*



The Infrastructure Engineer is expected to possess experience in
integrating multi-technology platforms, solid communication skills, and a
desire to tackle the complex technical problems. Must be able to perform
infrastructure architecture and troubleshoot complicated server and network
issues. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment driving
performance and reliability from software, infrastructure and private cloud
environments. This role requires strong technical proficiency in Windows
Server 2008/2012, Microsoft Active Directory, Exchange Mail system, SAN
storage management, spam filtering, load balancer, Cisco UCS, VMware
(vCenter, vSphere, etc.), Cisco firewall, switches, routers, Wireless
access point, and Identity Management.



*ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES*



Include the following, other duties may be assigned.

·Operate in a 24x7 highly scalable server infrastructure with
emphasis on excellent time management skills, meeting strict deadlines.

·Contribute in the architecture design, deployment and development
of IT services and associated processes and procedures.

·Responsible for management, maintenance and architecture of
storage, virtualized environment, servers, network, devices, and
productivity tools.

·Monitor systems and identify performance issues proactively.

·Maintain and monitor all network and computer systems to meet the
FCDC’s current and future requirements.

·Work with various vendors and service providers to ensure a
productive environment.

·Resolve issues and prepare status reports.

·Professionally represent the infrastructure team as a technical
consultant on projects.

·Maintain the necessary project plans and documentation of all
system builds, modifications, implementation, and support.

·Maintain and manage current and upcoming FCDC infrastructure
environment

·Maintain a good working knowledge of current infrastructure and
future trends.

·Preserve strong relationships with all service providers and
vendors to ensure that services received meet expected requirements of
contract. Provide after- hour support as needed.

*QUALIFICATIONS*

·Solid technical background in a multi-tenant hosted services

monitoring technologies solutions.

·Ability to identify incident trends in order to elevate incidents
in accordance with standard protocols.

·Able to gather relevant information systematically to troubleshoot
and resolve complex issues.

·Solid understanding of networking technologies and network
monitoring techniques.

·Sound problem solving and decision making skills.

·Good attention to detail, testing and documentation.

·Knowledge of ITIL and industry best practices.

·Strong virtualization experience.

·Proven ability to work in a cloud based or hosting environment.

·Strong oral and written communication skills.



*EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE*



·Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university with courses in
computer science, application programming languages, development tools, syst
ems analysis and systems design; or equivalent combination of education and
experience.

·Minimum 8 years of IT related experience and strong experience
with Microsoft Windows Server Platforms in large data center environment.

·MCSE and/or VCP certifications are preferred.

·Experience in EMC/Nimble SAN storage management.
