Re: [Oralux] bootdisc

2006-05-23 Thread Roman Zalessky
Hi, Gilles!

I've already received the 0.7alpha CD and have successfully boot it with
sbm-ru.img downloaded from oralux website. Also, I've asked to check the
sbm-ru.img on a i486DX4-100MHz machine, but I've been reported about
unsuccessful operation. Then I asked to boot the 0.7A CD with my sbm.img
(which includes --noautoscan option), but it also didn't boot. Then I
decided to check 0.6A CD with my sbm.img on that computer (this CD was
already booted with this sbm.img), but it also didn't work!!?

But on my computer all combinations work.

P.S.
I don't think it is necessary to include sbm images in several
languages, as the floppy is intended to boot without user
intervention (English is enough, I believe). Instead, I think, two variants of
image (with and without
--noautoscan option) can be included, if there is a difference between
them. I'll try to find out the fine set of options.

GC Hello Roman,

GC Checking the SBM image with a particular PC, I have to omit the
GC --noautoscan option otherwise the CD will not be proposed in the
GC boot list.

GC So the command you supplied would become (for example in English):

GC bmconf --install us --device /dev/fd0 --add cdrom=0,name=oralux
GC --default 1 --delay 4 --int13 on --list

GC Some sbm images are available also in Russian at the following URL,
GC could you please tell me, if this sbm image is still compliant with
GC your hardware?

GC The URL is: http://oralux.org/tmp/sbm

GC Thank you,

GC Gilles

GC *** Bonjour,

GC Pour les PC ne pouvant pas booter le CD, Roman propose l'utilisation
GC de Smart Boot Manager.

GC De nouvelles images de disquette de boot sbm sont disponibles à
GC cette URL: Une image sbm pour le français est disponible ici :
GC http://oralux.org/tmp/sbm

GC Elles ont été construites avec la commande bmconf mais sans l'option
GC --noautoscan.

GC bmconf --install fr --device /dev/fd0 --add cdrom=0,name=oralux
GC --default 1 --delay 4 --int13 on --list

GC A+ Gilles
