[OGD] ebay warning
Hi all, the Nigerian Scammers are now into ebay in Australia. One we know of buys an item and offers a greater price than bought for on ebay and requests the item to be sent to Nigeria. The current one has been banned from ebay but ( we believe ) starts up again under a new name. The Australian address given does not exist, nor does the person. They are working on the buying at the moment and wont be long before the selling starts which means you will never see the item purchased. Investigate fully the seller before you buy. The scammers usually are signed up on only a very short time with ebay. Regards, Roy. I had a friend who was selling a motorcycle online, for say 2500USD ... someone from somewhere in Africa won the auction, told her they would pay for the shipping of the bike as well... They arranged to have someone in the states stop by hand over the FAKE bank's cashier's check, for the amount of the bike and the shipping price -- idea being that she give the guy the bike and pay for the shipping... it's doubtful the bike would've ever made it to Africa, but if she'd handed over the bike and laid out the cash, she would've been out a fairly significant amount... This happened over a year ago so I don't fully recall all the details, but if something's too good to be true, or a little fishy, it probably is, for either circumstance.. -m ___ the OrchidGuide Digest (OGD) orchids@orchidguide.com http://orchidguide.com/mailman/listinfo/orchids_orchidguide.com

Nancy, I saw a photo of a Vanda Teres - Miss Joaquimon the Flickr photopage with your Den. Moschatum. Are those yours also? I did not write down the name, because Iwas sure I'd remember. Well, my memory said Dendrobiumparishii, which it surely is not. When it turned outto be *not* deciduous (even though I water-starved itin winter), I thought perhaps it was a reed-stemepidendrum; that also seems incorrect.I believe it is a species; the person who gave it tome pretty much sticks to species plants.Sadly, it is mounted on a small cork square. [OGD] Are Bromeliads Orchidaceous Plants?
Hello, This is my first post and I have a question to the taxanomists on the listor anybody who can help! My question is, are bromeliads orchidaceous plants? I know bromeliads are in the family of Bromeliaceae and orchids are in the order of Orchidaceae butthe word "orchidaceous" describes epiphytic plants, so does that mean all epiphytic plants are orchidaceous, including bromeliads.
