[OGD] Nakamotoara

2007-03-11 Thread IrisCohen
I have this Nak. Edwin Hausermann (Ascf. Peaches x V. cristata) that I bought
last May. I can grow Dar. Charm without serious trouble. The Nak. was
outdoors last summer, under lights ever since. It is in bark mix in a slotted
clay
pot. It appears healthy, but it does nothing. It just sits there hasn't
really grown at all. Any suggestions?

Barbara,

Your OGD post about Chuck and myself contained false allegations against me..
When challenged, by

It proves that you are unable to back up your false allegations.

To say that you did not have time is not very believable, when you did have

Instead of an apology, you elected to publicize a private e-mail from me to

far only 1 person has been kind enough to help me with some information and
the rest of the time I've seen bickering and argumentative conversations.

Sort it out guys...

Won't happen.and chances are you will get slammed for complaining, yet they
wiill tell
you how great the info is here. MAYBE, but that's if you can sift thru the
trash talk. Try
the AOS forum( http://www.aos.org/aos/MessageBoard/DB_Index.aspx ). The
complaint from this list is the AOS caters too much to beginners. That may or
may not be
true but I DO know you will get prompt civil answers to your problems without
having to
worry about someone jumping down your throat if you mistakenly say something
wrong.

Re: [OGD] evaporative cooler for 14 x 20 - Thank you

2007-03-11 Thread Nicholas Plummer
Thank you to everyone who responded on- and off-list
to my query about a wet wall for my new greenhouse.
Most people suggested one of the external evaporative
coolers instead, and this weekend I spoke to a local
grower who uses one. Apparently, it works well,
despite our high humidity, and requires a much smaller
hole in the greenhouse skin

Mark Sullivan asked why I was concerned about
insulating a wet wall. It's not freezing of the wet
wall itself that worried me, so much as sealing such a
large opening in the greenhouse. For the external
evaporative coolers that is less of an issue.

Thanks again.

Hi Ewan,

Yahoo groups has some active orchid discussion groups that cater more to
beginners, although even there sometimes that experienced growers get tired of
answering beginners questions.

At Yahoo groups try orchids, orchiddreams and orchidspecies.

We only had one problem last year: The owner of the Gymnosperm database

onto his website. I was shocked and asked him to remove it. He never did.
So, how can you really enforce it in a private group?

I am sure, you know, all our posts appear on the Internet as well. I am
always a bit reluctant to comment. Perhaps a screen-name is in order.
I was very upset, when I found two of the last posts about Garden Web World

scroll down to # 5 and #6. Barbara, your name shows up as well!
To be honest, I wish, our post would be private. I personally do not
appreciate the publicity.
This is the main reason for getting all this unwanted spam mail.
For instance, click on Barbara’s post, scroll all the way to the bottom and
you will find in the left corner:
  Reply via E-mail to
  Barbara.
Click on Barbara and you have her E-mail address:

So, all of your posts show up in the same matter with your E-mail address
hidden, however the Spamers know how to find those. I am sure each and every
one of you receive an uncontrollable amount of Spam Mail.
Perhaps our host would consider in closing this ‘Spam loop-hole’.
I am sure, more members would participate in the discussions as well.
