[Origami] crane wrist watches

2015-10-16 Thread cafe...@pacific.net

Did a general search and found

www.zazzle.com

with dozens of crane themed wrist watches - traditional cranes, crane
family crests and a 1000 crane origami paper crane wrist watch for $45.35.

Had never heard of this company and have no affiliation but the watches
are great looking - especially for crane fans.

 This link:

  http://www.zazzle.com/origami+crane+watches

will take you to search results of just origami cranes and watches; play
with the search terms to find lots more origami- and crane-related stuff.
Searching for "origami crane" yields 3,484 products at the moment.(!)

Or, even cooler, you can use Zazzle to design your own items. This is a
actually Zazzle's primary purpose. When you're buying from the website,
you're buying from someone who's designed something and is selling it
through their site, with Zazzle doing the printing and fulfillment. Zazzle
gets a cut, and the designer gets cut. You can also design stuff and keep
it private - just have it printed for you, not put up for general sale.
I've used them to create all sorts of things - clothing, mouse pads, mugs,
bumper stickers, magnets, pins... The quality is quite good, though their
fabric printing processes don't hold up quite as well as true silkscreen,
say. But there's no extra charge for multiple colors, they can print on
either light- or dark-colored fabrics... It's a nice service, and I've been
very pleased with the stuff I've had made there. (There are other similar
services, too, but I've mostly used this one.)

Looks like there's lots of opportunities to create nice-looking new
origami-themed stuff - on a quick browse around for cranes, seems that most
of the existing artwork there is based on just a few designs. Surely this
community can add to that! (NB: you should only use images of artworks for
which you have permission, or which are traditional and not under
copyright, of course.)

And I am in no way affiliated with Zazzle, just a happy customer.
