Hi Robert, J-S I just tested osgparticle and osganiimationviewer, and both worked fine for me. I'm running Ubuntu 10.04 (64-bit) with nVidia 256.53 drivers. While not too different from your configuration, it's at least another data point.

Could others test these to see if we can get a picture of when they work, when they fail. Stack traces of any crashes would be really useful.
