Was there a particular task or goal you were seeking to achieve? Many
times, we can suggest other, more relevant material if we know your
intentions.

Hi,

Thanks for all your advices! I will read the book like a good introduction, but
of course I will use the examples to understand the correct usage of OSG.

Thank you again!

It is still a very good book.

most of what is said is high enough level that the changes in lower level
implementation don't really matter.

I recommend reading it (or at least the relevant chapters for you), but don't
forget that the best way to learn after that is to go through the examples and
read their source, as Johny suggested.

Good luck,

Hi,

Get Visual Studio Community and browse through the sources. It's very easy to
read through. There are also a ton of examples if you turn that on in cmake.

Thank you!

Cheers,
Johny

[osg-users] OpenSceneGraph 3.0 for beginners book Quality

2018-10-12 Thread Noè Murr
Hi all,

I want to learn how to use OSG. I'm new, I know the basics of OpenGL and I've
studied Computer Graphics at the university.
I found the book [b]OpenSceneGraph 3.0 for beginners[\b] but I noticed that it
has been published in 2010, so it's very old... Is it still a good starting
point? is there something more updated?

Thank you!

Cheers,
Noè
