[OSList] Feedback Requested on OST Invitation

2019-02-25 Thread Jake Yeager via OSList
Hi everyone,

I've composed my first OST invitation and would love your feedback. I
reproduced the invitation below. It will be included in a calendar invite
that will have the date and time.

Thanks ahead of time for any comments!

All the best,
Jake

Co-Create our Team’s Future?

Our team’s purpose is to ensure that Navy Federal’s Lending division takes
prudent risk and maximizes profitability, all while upholding a preeminent
member experience. This is no small feat: challenges arise that require
that we stretch ourselves to innovate, to break new ground, to open new
horizons. Recent challenges include CECL, AnyLogic simulation, SRM Mission
and Automation, and credit card optimization. We surmount these challenges
because we collaborate to share our knowledge; because we ask tough,
insightful questions; and because we push ourselves to grow and achieve
excellence.

But there are always intractable issues that cause headaches, and there are
opportunities that wither for lack of time or attention. What are the
issues that our team faces, and how can we solve them? What are the
opportunities that lie before us, and how can we maximize them? How can we
co-create our future to work more seamlessly, to be more agile and
innovative, and to enhance our well-being? What does that look like, and
how can we get there?

I invite you to an Open Space in order to explore these questions. Open
Space is a highly participatory process that has been successfully employed
in multiple situations all over the world. Our Open Space will be via
WebEx, so that all team members can participate together if they want.

This first gathering will kick off our Open Space. Here is a schedule:

1:00 – 2:00pm ETOpening

2:00 – 3:00pm ETSession I

After the kickoff, we will have a dedicated Open Space session each month.
However, you are welcome to hold sessions outside of that time slot. It’s
really up to you: your passion and responsibility drives this process.

I can assure you that by the end of our Open Space:

1.Every issue of concern to anybody will have been raised, if they took
responsibility for doing that.

2.All issues will have received full discussion, to the extent desired.

3.A full report of issues and discussions will be in the hands of all
participants.

4.Action plans will be made and priorities set.

Hope to see you there!

All the best,

Jake

G8 Michael MP. I just finished the box I bought a couple of years ago. Didn’t
read them all 藍藍 but are great as a gift and were also for sale every now and
then.
The version I printed some 15 years ago is long gone, from me anyway.

Re: [OSList] Fwd: The Practice of Peace (2nd Edition) Book

2019-02-25 Thread Michael M Pannwitz via OSList

Dear Michael H. and Martin,

I checked with Human Systems Dynamics Institute in Minnesota who
published the 2nd edition of The Practice of Peace (this is the version
that HO has on his website to download
https://www.openspaceworld.com/final%20pop%20hdsi.pdf

the publisher still has some some of the books and is ready to provide
them, here is the contact email address rholla...@hsdinstitute.org

If you, Martin, are in Europe, you can also get a copy directly from me
(I have a number of the books in my office); or order it from the online
bookstore of my publisher in Berlin

https://www.westkreuz-verlag.de/de/the-practice-of-peace
who also has the German versions both in paper or as an ebook
https://www.westkreuz-verlag.de/de/Raum-fuer-den-Frieden
https://www.westkreuz-verlag.de/de/Raum-fuer-den-Frieden-E-Book

The story of how "The Practice of Peace" originally did not find a
publisher and how HO liberated it so any of us could simply print and
distribute it, is one of the great stories that demonstrate the spirit
of os-workers around the globe. It was simultaneously published by
colleagues within weeks after HO let go of it in Germany, USA, Canada,
Australia, Sweden, Haiti, Taiwan and Israel. I wonder in what languages
it is available other than English and German.

Apart from all that, Pop is a gem. When I get to feel out of whack or in
chaos, I read in it... for instance in Chapter VI where you can find
some guiding points for peacemakers:

Never work hareder than you have to.
Don't fix it if it ain't broke.
Never delude yourself into thinking you are in control.

Greetings from Berlin
