[OSList] Some Thoughts

Hi everyone,

Some thoughts that might stimulate conversation:

   - Open Space is not a "thing": it's a way of working. Open Space is
   probably more properly a verb, such as "We're open-spacing..."
   - Minimize the use of the term "Open Space": it's alien to most people,
   and it reinforces the notion that it is a "thing" that you "do"
   - Let an organization give this way of working it's own name if it wants
   - Focus on the problems I can help an organization with and on possible
   outcomes: do not focus on the process
   - Discuss my fundamental beliefs with the client
  1. Everyone wants to participate in creating their own future
  2. All answers are within
   - How to make sure you work in alignment with belief #1 (from Meg
   Wheatley)
  - Everyone who cares is invited
  - Everyone dialogues and connects with many others
  - Everyone creates the organization's future

I've been thinking about you - I never replied to your follow up email -
and wanting to thank you for an inspiring call, which was part of my recent
catalyst into current learning and development trajectory :)

So thank you for reminding me of how great it is to share and be
co-inspired, and getting me pumped about Clean Language and Open Space
coaching!

I may try out some of the latter with some of my new clients for embodiment

reading the piece on Haier left me without fascinating myself.

I wonder what similarities you (or others among us) see to OST which I 
had some exposure to or to Semco (never met them but did read "The 
Seve-Day Weekend" and "Maverick" and always get a kick when having 
another look. Just as now, reading in Part Three  of The Seven-Day 
Weekend: "Management By (O)mission",  Chaper 1: "Order of the Day: 
Give up control, Sir!").


Part Three has a citation at the beginning from a Chinese Emperor 
(157-141 before Christ):

"Wu wei er zhi - Do nothing in order to govern".

I wonder if the Chinese could profit from this wisdom from 2176 years 
before today.

uplifted and inspired myself smiling at the statements in the video.

And that in the face of having heard all of that in the past, during and 
after OST events.


Its a solid reminder that OST always works and that it is a deep and 
productive experience no matter how often it is repeated.


What other experiences have we heard of in which folks (in the words of 
the participants in Brisbane) relate, connect, speak from the heart, 
open up, feel alive and energized, focus, decide sticky stuff in real 
time, actually participate, generate ideas, engage, are happy...?
