[OSList] Opening Space for Peace and High Performance 2022: A Virtual Gathering

2021-12-17 Thread Harold Shinsato via OSList

Dear OSList,

The Open Space Institute - U.S. would like to welcome attendees to the
second online version of Peace and High Performance that has gathered
every year on the weekend before Martin Luther King, Jr. day since the
late 1990's. The event began to highlight Harrison Owen's book The
Practice of Peace. Harrison has said he will attend portions of this
event for dialog rather than his two morning talks.

It will be January 14-16, and we are expanding to support two circles
each day to support more time zones, especially Asia. Registration is
necessary but the fee is optional.

https://osius.org/peace-high-performance-2022

The program does not reflect it yet, but April Jefferson and Myrianne
Ouellette will be supporting the facilitation online with QiqoChat.
April has become a leading practitioner of online Open Space, and
opportunities to learn and practice OST online (as well as in general)
will be explicitly part of the training intention of the event this year.

The theme/focus this year?

HOW MIGHT — AND WILL WE GENERATE GLOBAL IMPACT THROUGH THE GIFT OF OPEN
SPACE?

In an effort to
WALK AWAY TRANSFORMED

as a collective, as individuals.

    Regards,
    Harold

our own shares her wisdom in the form of a book, with the collaboration and

Full disclosure: I’m biased because I had the joy and honor of being a sounding
board as the book was born. It gave me a ring side seat to witnessing emerge
the best framing of how to work with leaders and organizations seeking change
that I’ve seen. Tova provides stories and a jaw-droppingly elegant framework
that is simplicity on the other side of complexity. It captures a nuanced,
multi-dimensional view of consulting work for introducing and integrating
self-organization into an organization.

In the process, she also drops gems, like offering the most cogent,
myth-busting explanation of that oh-so-frustrating complaint that so many of us
hear: yes, it was a great meeting but nothing happened afterwards. I’ll just
leave that as a teaser to say if you want to know more, get the book. (It’s in

Give yourself or a friend a gift for the new year.

Best of the season,

Dear Gentza,
Thank you! I would love to come to Bilbao and celebrate life and opneing spaces.
I think end of September will be a good time. June sounds too soon, October
brings the risk of Covid constraints.
So good to hear you have time to organise this and show us your beloved Bilbao.

Wish you Merry Christmas and a great 2022.

Dear friend, how are you?

irudia.pngirudia.png
I'm writing you asking for some feedback on the idea of inviting Wosonos
2022 from Bilbao (Basque Country), as it seems that Berlin won't be able
at last to do so. I hope my English is good enough to have well
understood Jo 's last message on 23-11-2021 to the Oslist.

As I wrote to the oslist, I've been last days checking around and

   * there's a venue in Bilbao that we would like most and tomorrow we'll
been having news about the availability
   * Myself I'm very motivated with this long "dream" and if we go ahead,
I'lhave plenty of time to focus on the prject. Besides, Bilbao is my
place, thecity I wasw born and the one I best know and manage
   * I know lots of OS people around. I've spoken a bit about the idea
and it seems we would soon team up for W22
   * I think it would be great to invite to regather, specially in this
times full of uncertainty and in which OS is so pertinent.

I'm writing to you because I know we have some time shared some flesh
and bone time (I've attended Wosonos 10-Berlin; NYC High Performance and
Peace 2011; Ws 2012-London; Ws 2015 Krakow; and we've held some Basque
Osonos in here, and also invited the European Osonos in Donostia/San
Sebastian in 2016).

Now I’d like you just to take a small time to answer:

   * How does it sound it to you, “Wosonos 2022: come join us celebrate
life ans Open Space in Bilbao!”
   * Dates: thursday to saturday, ahat would be best? October, 2022? June
 2022?
   * Anything you would like to add to support our hipothetic invitation
(that we would, more or less send at the start of 2022)?
   * What else to consider?

Feel free to resend this message to anyone that could like receiving it.

Thanks so much for your attention and time!

Live, laugh, love!
