As long as people have good text in their from field, it should make the sender clear in our inboxes and in the archives. But we won't be able to search via email addresses :-( Still, it seems better than risking the OSList being considered a spammer in the DMARC system - so I'll leave it that way for now until we have a better solution. Another festival of bounces in my inbox. This time, the google/gmail accounts seemed to be ok. But many Yahoo, MSN, Sympatico, Comcast and other accounts bounced Raffi's email - and the OSList disabled their accounts. Again, one by one, I re-enabled them today. If you see this email - no action needed. The email companies like Google, Yahoo, etc. are implementing something called DMARC to prevent spam. For now - I have changed Raffi's account so I have to moderate anything he sends. I'm trying another experiment where the From field is changed - so this note doesn't say From Harold in your email program. I don't think this is acceptable - but I'm testing it. It looks like there is a better solution in a newer version of the software we are using for the OSList. Thanks Scott, Koos, and Karolina, I can see that the sender is listed as Harold Shinsato via OSList oslist@lists.openspacetech.org. As long as people have good text in their from field, it should make the sender clear in our inboxes and in the archives. But we won't be able to search via email addresses :-( Still, it seems better than risking the OSList being considered a spammer in the DMARC system - so I'll leave it that way for now until we have a better solution.
