Re: Maps moved to SD-card but app "Kaarten GPS Navigatie OsmAnd" still claims 4,0 GB of internal storage

2017-08-30 Thread Chris Hoetmer
Hi Nick and Harry,
Thanks for your answers, they really help me.
I did the test that Nick suggested and indeed when I uncouple the SD-card I
see that the claim on internal storage by OsmAnd drops from 4,0 GB to 106
MB. The same effect I see for DSCloud (by Synology) whose claim drops from
1,6 GB to 83MB.
Strangely I see no drop in the total use of internal storage, it remains
14,56GB, nor in Used space that remains 7,61GB, nor in Used for Apps that
remains 7,59GB.
I am doubting on what to do now. Wait for Samsung for a new version?
Choose Harry's suggestion with it drawbacks?
Anyhow thanks for your help.
Chris

Local altitude/height

2017-08-30 Thread David
It would be nice if osmand would show the altitude/height of the point under
the orange marker. For instance with the information you get if you pull the
menu at the bottom of the screen up (with the coordinates and foto's)

Osmand has this info, because it uses it in the highness/steepness graph.

Re: [Bug] Some Road Segments not displayed

OsmAnd voice navaigation explains how to get out my neighborhood 25x/month. Proposal to fix this problem...

2017-08-30 Thread David
When you set your destination and press the navigate button, but not the start
button yet, Osmand will set the route and follow it, but not activate the
voice. You can start the voice whenever you want just by pressing the start
button.(the menu will stay open as long as you don't press annything.

Re: Orange map marker disappears too easily on recent update.

2017-08-30 Thread David
Just use one of the flags if you want to mark a place for a longer period.
That is where they are for, you can even flag several places.
I personaly think it is an improvement that the big orange blob does not stay
on the map every time I want to mark, poi or navigate to a plsce on the map.

2017-08-30 Thread Harry van der Wolf
Did you set up your SD-card as "internal storage"? on Android 6+, that's
an option when you first insert the sdcard.
See

Re: Maps moved to SD-card but app "Kaarten GPS Navigatie OsmAnd" still claims 4,0 GB of internal storage

2017-08-30 Thread nickjohnstonsky
There's a problem in some Android versions where application data stored on
the SD card is reported as internal storage.

You can see if this bug affects your phone by unmounting the SD card and
then seeing how much internal space Android reports OsmAnd is using. Most
likely the "internal" space used will drop when you unmount the SD card.
