Re: Adding Custom Tile Server (mbtiles Server) as Overlay? {x}/{y}/{z} => {0}/{1}/{2}

2020-02-14 Thread Derek Hildreth
Thanks for the help! I must've had a strange caching issue because I was
able to re-add it with a new map name and everything works now!

I used your url to verify things were working okay, which gave me a great
testing baseline. Thanks again for your help!

I don't think so!  If you're serving tiles in a format like:

https://servername/directory/0/1/2.png

then you should be able to set it up.

I have a server https://map.atownsend.org.uk/ that serves tiles in the
usual OSM format, so https://map.atownsend.org.uk/hot/9/253/166.png is a
valid tile. I've defined that in Osmand via "Map Source / Define/Edit" as:

 * Name    AJT
 * URL    https://map.atownsend.org.uk/hot/{0}/{1}/{2}.png
 * Min zoom    0
 * Max zoom    24
 * Expire    (left blank)
 * Elliptic Mercator    (unticked)

Best Regards,

Andy

Re: direction?

2020-02-14 Thread vzteklik

I tried it and can't figure it out :-(

I can create new profile and yes the navigation is a straight line,
which is perfect. However I can't find how to change the type of
navigation (straight line vs. anything else) without changing the
profile setting?

Example: I have a certain renderer and other maps settings set which
suits me. Now I want to get from my location to a point on the map. I
choose the profile to be used with these settings and before pressing GO
I would like to be able to choose whether I want to stick to roads or
fly over using the straight line, similarly I often want to change 'use
roads' to 'straight line' mode while re-calculating the route. Simply to
have the drop down menu which is available on profile setting page on
navigation setup page. That I guess is not possible, correct?

Nevertheless, the airplane mode is what I was looking for, so thank you
for enlightening me.

Just create a new profile from airplane standard profile.
It does exactly what you want.
(I've tried it with the build from today)

vzteklik schrieb am Di., 11. Feb. 2020, 20:45:

Understood.

But is there a way to choose while setting up a navigation between
'use the roads/map' and 'just show the direction' while not changing
the profile? Similar like you are choosing to avoid certain roads,
fastest or economic etc...?

I have been using it in the Sahara desert navigating to a certain
coordinates and was not interested in sticking to any roads, only in
direction - my old Garmin can do it with two button clicks. Similarly
I quite like to just know that in this direction is my destination and
find a way to get there myself - on- or off-road does not matter -
walk or drive. Just for the fun of it. So I'm trying to find a way to
do so. Changing profiles is of course possible (now that I know of
it), but I would need to have two profiles per type of transport one
set to direction and one for the road and twice set up the map look
:-(

Actually, OsmAnd implements different navigation modes and presents
them to the user as "profiles": you can also create your own, if you
are not satisfied with the provided ones, by "mixing" the features
you like: just check menu Settings -> Manage app profiles -> (+ Add)
button.

Best things,
Max

Great! Thank you, that seems to do the trick ;-)

How does the airplane mode does it? In ideal world I would like to
use this navigation method on request in pedestrian mode (where my
map is already configured to the desired look).

Thanks.

Hi,

I'm sure I'm overlooking something somewhere, but how can I make

Re: SD Card question

2020-02-14 Thread Helmut Jarausch
Sometimes one has to reboot the device to see the change.
If you have a file manager installed (I like Totalcomander or MiXplorer
best)
go to /Android/data/net.osmand.plus/files
There you see the maps.

This is already supported:

1. Open the main menu.
2. Select "Configure map".
3. Enable "POI overlay labels".
