How do I prevent the app from changing the zoom?

I would like to keep my position always centred, and choose the zoom

Re: Finding the exact type of 'surface'/'tracktype' of a given path

2020-06-18 Thread Alessandro Sarretta

Hi,

probably not exactly what you're asking but, in OsmAnd, under *Configure
map* > *Details*, you can activate "*Show road surface*" and "*Show road
quality*". If available in OSM, they will be rendered with a different
style (here you can find all the different rendering styles:

now the only way I know to do this, is through a "query features" for

all these OSM properties.

However, opening up osm.org is not practical on a phone, and
long-tapping on the point of interest in OsmAnd does not display any
such property. On the other hand, comparing the line type you see on
the map to the MapLegend in the Help is not convenient: too many taps
back and forth, and even then, the different path categories are hard
to distinguish for people who are colour-blind.

Re: Using Google maps to connect to a location in, 'Osmand'

Maybe I misunderstood the question, but what I'd do is simply to do a long
tap on the map in GMaps at the place I'm interested in; select and copy the
coordinates that appear on the map; paste the coordinates in the search box
in OsmAnd.
It seems to work smoothly...

As far as I know, the answer is no. The predefined settings within the
query button are as specific as OsmAnd gets.

surface, i.e. with a query similar to "highway=footway AND

The OSM feature "highway=*" is more problematic still in that OsmAnd
doesn't recognize roads, footways, etc as categories within its search
function.

I was thinking to try and understand how to build more specific queries
(maybe contributing to the code?), similarly to what one can do in
http://overpass-turbo.eu/, but from what you're saying probably it isn't
so easy...

Re: How can I search for parking spaces for disabled people?

Hi there and thanks to all for the interactions.

On 03/06/19 08:59, Peter B wrote:

Of course you need the tagging in the data. I did not test other taggings with
disabled tags.
Peter

The tag capacity:disabled= is referred mainly to
amenity=parking, and not to amenity=parking_space.

So it describes the number of disabled parking spaces inside a car
parking, but not the specific parking space.

The use case I'm looking for is to help disabled people to reach exactly
the space for them where to park, so that they can also plan which path
(throught sidewalks that have e.g. a lowered kerb) to use to reach their
destination.

My use case is very specific, but the question is more general:

"*is it possible, in OSMand, to build a filter customizing the query,
independently from the predefined ones? Or how can add a specific custom
filter?*".

Another example could be filtering all sidewalks with a paved surface,
i.e. with a query similar to "highway=footway AND footway=sidewalks AND
surface=asphalt".

Thanks for any hint,

Ale

How can I search for parking spaces for disabled people?

2019-05-31 Thread Alessandro Sarretta
Dear all,
I've tried to understand how to search in OSMand for parking spaces for
disabled people, but without success.
Using custom filters I can see how to select parking areas containing
spaces for disabled (amenity=parking + capacity:disabled=*), but I'm not
able to find a way to select single parking places designated for disabled
people (amenity=parking_space + disabled=yes/designated or other similar
combinations).
Could you please suggest a way to do that or suggest some resource to
understand how to cutomize in this sense the filters?
Thank you very much,
