Re: IOS 13.1.3 compatible??

2019-10-19 Thread Hans Beldhuis

Hi Jonathan,
I had some difficulties to open GPX files in osmand (iOS) after installing up
to 13.1.2.
IMO two findings are causing this:
1/ In iOS 13+ the os handles files and files extensions in a different way as
before. A reason may be a tighter connection to Siri. And another more
connection to automating tasks. Take a look at personalizing tasks and wonder
how powerful this feature is. As a result, apps that doesn’t support iOS 13
fully will have problems, f.e. do not appear as a suggestion in the Open In
menu.
2/ Some apps aren’t compliant to ios 13 yet and can’t handle file extensions
properly.

Both apply to Osmand. End of October an update will be released that’s
hopefully more compliant.
Up to then you’ve to use several tricks. The following three I got from the
osmand support team:

First please check that you have installed latest iOS 13 version, after that,
you can try to install other application that supports GPX and delete it, it
may help. If it doesn't help, you can import tracks by connecting your device
to Mac or PC with iTunes installed, and copy GPX in OsmAnd Maps Documents
folder, after that, open OsmAnd - My places - Trips - All trips - Import. Also,
you can try to reinstall OsmAnd, but don't forget to backup your data.

Fortunately for me this week 2 things happened: the other gps app I’m using
TopoGPS updated to ios13. And iOS 13.1.3 was released. After installing both
osmand was possible to read GPX files using the Open In dialogue.

Success!

Re: OsmAnd not in iOS 13 Open in .. menu {Solved}

2019-10-13 Thread Hans
Nice that this solution works for you, but maybe not for me because I don't
want to delete apps.

*Maybe* I found another direction for a solution.
In ios 13 one can personalize and automate tasks, using installed apps, for
example to change opening standard apps. Key is Siri. Apparently, the
OsMand app is in ios 13 not known/available to Siri. Therefore I can't
automate a task using the app OsmAnd. If this is possible than I can add
"Open in Osmand" of "Copy to Osmand" in ios 13.

How do I get Osmand known to Siri?
1/ to be implemented by Osmand? When is the new IOS release?
2/ delete and reinstall the OsMand app running under ios 13?

Any advice is welcome, because now I don't have ANY possibility to import
GPX files into Osmand. And next week I'll need it during a break with a lot
of walking and cycling....

Many thanks,
Hans

fiestskooppunten (rcn_ref) in OsmAnd

2019-09-09 Thread Hans
In the iOS version the “knooppunten” are easily made visible.
1/ screen option, for cycling choose Routes.
2/ check option “Show cycle routes”.
In addition to the “knooppunten” names of routes are displayed.

Re: How to start navigation for a GPX track (round trip) at a specific point?

2019-08-06 Thread Hans
Innovation rate in the cycling/biking industry is enormous, both in hardware as
well software (fe OsmAnd).
USB charges are not for e-bikes but for (semi)professional bikes such as
santosbikes.com :).

Energy consumption and battery life are good points Harry.
I use a hub dynamo usb charger (Forumslader). There are many good ones, see
https://www.cyclingabout.com/list-of-hub-dynamo-power-supplies-for-usb-devices/
Charging starts already at low speed.

Re: How to start navigation for a GPX track (round trip) at a specific point?

2019-08-05 Thread Hans
That’s true Wolfgang. One can ride along the track. But when you’re a captain
of a cycling team for example it’s nice to have some real *navigation*
information on your screen (left side) to inform your mates “in 250 meters to
the left, and shortly afterwards to the right”. Or “in 10 min stop at
restaurant” (right side). Isn’t ?
There is a difference in use between all the users of osmand I guess.
Thanks for your advice and suggestions.
Best, Hans

How to start navigation for a GPX track (round trip) at a specific point?

2019-08-04 Thread Hans
I found a nice bike tour as a GPX track. It’s a round trip.
I want to start at a specific point along the track not being the first wpt of
the track. OsmAnd gives me the possibility to:
1/ specify the starting position.
2/ to turn on the option Pass along entire track.

I expect that osmand will navigate me along the track starting (2) at the wpt I
provided (1).
Unfortunately this doesn’t happen.
First, navigation starts at my starting point. Correct.
Next, it brings me along the track to the first/last wpt in the GPX track.
Wrong.
And then the navigation starts along the complete track, of which a part is
already done!

Does someone recognize my wish, and sees my error?

I’m using osmand 2.90 on iOS.

Thanks!

Thanks Bart. Looks like a two-step procedure. I'll try to combine 2 gpx

How to navigate to a certain point in a GPX track (cycle; iOS§)

2019-07-20 Thread Hans Beldhuis
I'm a new user of OSMAnd iOS, and I'm unable to figure out how to navigate
to a specific point in a GPX track.
1/ The track is a bicycle trip, and I want to start it from a specific
point in a specific direction.
2/ I start at home so I need to add the track from home to that specific
point in the track.
Any suggestions?
Thanks

Buy & Use Osmand+ and Addons without Google Play Store

2017-07-31 Thread Hans Bruno

Hello Community,
I run my Android phone (Cyanogen, rooted) without Google or Amazon Software
(and I want to keep it that way for privacy concerns). I know paid apps
like Titanium Backup can be activated (upgraded top premium) with a licence
file purchased online and then placed in a certain folder.
Is there any possibility to get osmand+ and the contour lines addon workind
without Amazon or Google store? F-Droid is fine.
Any help is very much appreciated :)
Kind regards,
Hans
