Re: [bug] wrong navigation route calculated

2017-04-06 Thread Jc Maxwell
Unfortunately, this is a somewhat common problem.

I live in a gated complex next to a freeway. If I start directions from my
house, OSMAnd+ instructs me to somehow jump directly up to the freeway (!).

Since the freeway is elevated and limited-access, what you actually have to
do is drive around to the complex gate, turn left or right, and go a mile
or so and a couple of turns to the nearest freeway entrance. As you noted,
the OpenStreetMap site plots the route correctly.

I've had OSMAnd+ do this also in rural locations. It plotted non-existent
connections between a secondary road and a freeway. In some cases there
were unpaved roads heading in the general direction, but terminating well
before the freeway, with no access. In other cases, there was no road at
all.

[bug] wrong navigation route calculated

2017-04-06 Thread Damjan Gerl
Hi to all!
I want to submit a bug in Osmand (+2.5.4) when calculating a route for
navigation (I hope that this is the right place to submit bugs). I checked
and there are no osm data problem so I suppose that there is a bug in
Osmand. The location where you can see the bug is this:
http://www.openstreetmap.org/directions?engine=osrm_car=45.71650%2C13.72800%3B45.72060%2C13.72610#map=17/45.71855/13.72785

On osm site the route is calculated correctly: 2 right turn and under the
bridge to the highway.

In osmand the same start/finish location, but the navigation route is
jumping directly from the bridge to the bottom road.

Maybe the "problem" is that there are 2 points with nearly identical
position, the first on the way on the bridge, the second on the way under
the bridge. But the ways are not connected. I can remove the 2 incriminated
points but think that the bug should be corrected in osmand.

Please check!

Thank you
Damjan G.
