You should send an email from OTRS interface instead of using the
External-note feature. To see the external note the usuer must log on OTRS.

[otrs-de] Cannot add or update a child row

Hallo Liste,

das Update auf OTRS 5 gestaltet sich mühsamer als sonst. Ich war schon fast 
soweit das Update der Prod zu terminieren, als mir auffiel, dass ich 
Kundenbenutzer zwar erfolgreich ändern oder neue anlegen kann, in der SysLog 
bei jeder dieser Aktionen aber steht:

Cannot add or update a child row: a foreign key constraint fails 
(`otrs`.`user_preferences`, CONSTRAINT `FK_user_preferences_user_id_id` FOREIGN 
KEY (`user_id`) REFERENCES `users` (`id`)), SQL: '

Das Migration-Script für MySQL von 4 auf 5 lief ohne Fehler durch, alle Punkte 
nur "done".

Vielleicht habe ich ja Glück und hier hatte schon jemand anders dieses Problem 
und weiß die Lösung?`
