Re: [oXygen-user] [Ann] Oxygen Git Client add-on version 2.5.1 has been released!

2021-06-29 Thread Jean Kaplansky
Hi -

The exact java version used with Oxygen: java.runtime.version 1.8.0_202-b08

The two sites with add-ons in my list:

https://www.oxygenxml.com/InstData/Addons/default/updateSite.xml
https://www.oxygenxml.com/InstData/Addons/community/updateSite.xml
I've disabled "Automatically accept a security certificate"

I'm not getting any questions about certificates now.

I did not reinstall (I may do this later). I did restart; no more
complaints.

Please let me know if there's anything else I should consider.

Thanks!

Thanks, Adrian -

I’ll do some further testing today based o. Your recommendations. I haven’t
messed with any Java settings in Oxygen, but I did install Oxygen 23.1
without uninstalling 22. This may be a factor.

More later.

Thanks for your input.

Re: [oXygen-user] [Ann] Oxygen Git Client add-on version 2.5.1 has been released!

2021-06-28 Thread Oxygen XML Editor Support (Adrian Buza)

Hello Jean,

"Automatically accept a security certificate, even if invalid" is an
option that was specifically made to bypass invalid SSL/TLS certificates
and certificates that Java can't validate (usually because Java has no
root certificate for the given certificate hierarchy).
It's not really an option that you should keep on in normal
circumstances, it's meant for debugging or quickly getting around such a
certificate validation issue.

With a clean v23.1 installation we cannot reproduce this with the Oxygen
default update site URL:

https://www.oxygenxml.com/InstData/Addons/default/updateSite.xml

So first we need to know which HTTPS URL is triggering this for you and
*what is the exact Java version that you are using with Oxygen*. The
Java version can be found in Help -> About, System properties,
java.runtime.version

To test which URL triggers this, clear the "Automatically accept a
security certificate" box and use File > Open URL to try and open the
URL in question. Try multiple HTTPS URLS. If it triggers only when
trying to install add-ons check each URL from the list in Options >
Preferences, Add-ons.

So either it's a different URL that triggers this error, or there is
something wrong with the distribution of Java (bad lib/security/cacerts)
that your Oxygen distribution is using. I am assuming you haven't messed
with the Java runtime bundled with Oxygen (in the Oxygen/jre folder). If
you did, you should consider reinstalling Oxygen, as something may be
wrong with it.

Hi,

When does this error appear? Are you trying to open an URL (in which
case which one) or to upgrade the Git Client?

What Oxygen version are you running?

Please have a look at Help -> About an the System properties tab. I'm

Re: [oXygen-user] [Ann] Oxygen Git Client add-on version 2.5.1 has been released!

2021-06-24 Thread Oxygen XML Editor Support (Radu Coravu)

Hi,

Just to update the public user's list with the private email exchange
which followed, I asked Ray:

What version of Oxygen are you using.

Our Git add-on is compatible with Oxygen XML Editor/Author/Developer
versions 21.1 or newer.

And he answered:

I’m using Oxygen XML Editor 23.1.

I removed the plugin from the extension folder of the com.oxygenxml in
the preferences folder then reloaded the plugin through the ‘Install
New Add-ons’.

The Git Client appeared and installed OK.

Regards,

Radu

Dear Alin

Thank you for your email.

Git Client only appears when 'Show only Compatible add-ons' is

I've tried to download the plugin from Oxygen XML
Editor/Author/Developer with the same result.

Kind regards

[oXygen-user] [Ann] Oxygen Git Client add-on version 2.5.1 has been released!

2021-06-18 Thread Alin Belu

Hello,

Today we announce the release of Oxygen Git Client add-on version 2.5.1!

The newest version of the add-on comes with the fixing of a
configuration problem caused by the selection of a branch to check out
when cloning a repository. Because of this, remote changes could not be
detected anymore.

Also, with this release, the JGit component included in the Git Client
was updated to version 5.11.0.

For more information, see the details for the Oxygen Git Client add-on
on GitHub:

https://github.com/oxygenxml/oxygen-git-plugin/blob/master/README.md

We hope that you will find this latest release of the Oxygen Git Client
add-on useful and any feedback on it will be welcomed!

Best regards,
Alin
