Re: [ozmidwifery] Brow presentation...
And we are assured that brow presentations cannot deliver vaginally! Sue "The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing"Edmund Burke - Original Message - From: Tania Smallwood To: ozmidwifery@acegraphics.com.au Sent: Tuesday, May 03, 2005 6:14 AM Subject: [ozmidwifery] Brow presentation... Another wonderful story to add to the list... Attended a beautiful 'out of hospital' birth (not at the couple's home, but at a holiday house by the sea) last week, good strong labour, with some lovely lulls for Mum to sleep, strong urge to push for some time, and then very wide flattening of the perineum before we saw a brow present! Absolutely amazing to watch, as we could see the imprint of the baby's face under the stretched perineum, brow at the fourchette, chin at the anus, and then a couple of lovely strong urges to push, and this gorgeous baby girl, with a perfectly round head (if not a bit of a flattened brow!) was born, nearly 9lbs, to a mum that started the pregnancy under 50 kgs. Only a little 1st degree tear, no sutures, and an elated mum, dad and midwives! Aren't women just amazing, when they are left to follow their instinct, and work in harmony with their baby...
