Re: Newborn footprints

2001-10-30 Thread klevine

I haven't been able to find much published on the subject of newborn
foorprinting for security purposes on our midwifery database. Apart from a
couple of anecdotal items from the mid 90s, the only article evaluating its use
is:

Butz AM, Oski FA, Repke J et al. Newborn identification: compliance with AAP
guidelines for perinatal care. Clinical Pediatrics, vol 32, no 2, Feb 1993, pp
111-113.

Re: Rescue Remedy

The only reference on our midwifery database which specifically mentions rescue
remedy is:

van der Mey C. Bach flower essences: part 2. Birthplace, no 64, Spring
1998, pp 22-23

Re: Physiological 3rd Stage

2001-10-03 Thread klevine

MIDIRS (the UK-based Midwives Information and Resource Service) provides an
information service to midwives throughout the world. Our database of 90,000
midwifery references is now available to subscribers via our website
(www.midirs.org). This web-based information service includes full access to our
420 preprepared standard database searches, one of which is on third stage
management (search code L19). It also provides access to the full database to
conduct a tailor made search for yourself. Photocopies of full articles can then
be ordered direct over the internet, though have to be delivered by normal post.

Full information of services, costs and how to apply for a password is given in
the services section of our website. All our previous services still exist, so
database searches can be ordered by normal post, fax or telephone and will be
charged to a credit card.

There is also a wealth of information on our website which is free, including a
book service, a listing of events, a news service, and a list of contact
organisations with direct links to their websites.

We are striving to include more information from around the world, so would be
interested to hear from anyone who has any information from Australia which they
think we should include - in particular any press releases which could be of
interest ans well as information about changes in the provision of health care
in Australia which will be of interest to midwives. We subscribe to and scan all
the main midwifery and obstetrics journals, but if you feel we are missing
anything relevant, please let me know.

Do contact me if you need any more information
Best wishes
