Re: [ozmidwifery] childbirth classes
Hi Susan where I used to work, they were either 5 x 2 hr (approx) sessions or 2 x Saturdays that the couples could attend. A lot of group discussion work and activities and labour was the main thing discussed as this was what most of the questions focused on. The last session was spent on parenting and settling etc etc. Some videos were also shown. They used to orrganise a reunion for about 8 weeks after the class for everyone to get together and catch up with their babies. One of the sessions I attended, one couple went into prem labour before the last week, so came along to the last session armed with a picture of their new munchkin It was a wonderful moment I will never forget, the shock and surprise on everyone's faces!! :-) Katrina On 11/03/2005, at 6:07 PM, Susan Cudlipp wrote: Dear List I am posting this question on behalf of one of my colleagues who is very involved in our hospital run childbirth preparation classes. If so, does anyone know which funds/which level of coverage? Love, Barb Hi Barb... many insurance companies will refund for CBE classes with ancillary cover...however...those I have inquired of back in 2000 (Medi bank Pri, GMHBA, HBA, Aust UNity) would only do so for classes facilitated by Physio's! I asked how many physio's facilitated classes here locally, none they said but the hospital classes they told me were underwritten by the hospital physio department and that was deemed OK...Go Figure?? RE: [ozmidwifery] childbirth classes
I have just checked with our office. All of the Australian Health Management Group funds do to some extent. Depends on level of ancillary cover the member has Judy -Original Message-From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]]Sent: Tuesday, 28 January 2003 1:45 PMTo: [EMAIL PROTECTED]Subject: Re: [ozmidwifery] childbirth classesI queried Medibank Private and they said they would - but don't know which type of provider they would cover, and the level of cover.Debbie SlaterPerth, WA
