--- Comment #7 from Daiki Ueno du...@redhat.com 2011-10-18 03:26:25 EDT ---
(In reply to comment #5)

 recutils-libs.x86_64: W: shared-lib-calls-exit /usr/lib64/librec.so.0.0.0
 _exit@GLIBC_2.2.5
[...]

Can these be corrected? If so, is it upstreamable?

I think some of them could be easily corrected and upstreamable, but not
entirely, for some reason:

- some exit() call are in the code generated by flex
- other exit() calls are in libgnu (gnulib), maintained in a separate upstream
project

For the time being I addressed the easy part only. Will ask the upstream
later.

 recutils-libs.x86_64: W: no-documentation
The package contains no documentation (README, doc, etc). You have to include
 documentation files.

 Not much to include here.

I merged -libs subpackage into the base package, so this warning should be
removed now.

I think the removal of the deprecated rpm tags was a mistake because your

please format the bindir macro in %files and use name macro

--- Comment #4 from Mo Morsi mmo...@redhat.com 2011-10-18 07:58:23 EDT ---

Works good on an F16 system. It was failing on my f15 box since rubygem-rdoc
is not available there. Does 'rubygem-rdoc' need to be a BuildRequires?

No since rubygem-rdoc is just needed to build the sources and the BuildRequires
are used to specify the dependencies required to build the package given the
sources.

Some additional comments from a rubygem review that vondruck performed
 previously ...

 * Please execute test suite if available upstream.

A bit tricky in our case since the test suite contains the tests for
rubygem-aeolus-image and rubygem-aeolus-cli (seperate packages).

This is not a blocker correct?

 * I would suggest to move following files into -doc subpackage:

 %{geminstdir}/Gemfile
 %{geminstdir}/Rakefile
 %doc %{geminstdir}/minitest
 %doc %{geminstdir}/test
 %doc %{geminstdir}/spec
 %doc %{geminstdir}/%{gemname}.gemspec
 %doc %{geminstdir}/CHANGELOG.md
 %doc %{geminstdir}/Guardfile

Again this is a suggestion and isn't a blocker correct? (any more blockers for
approval?). Either way is correct according to the guidelines (%doc macro or
doc subpackage) and this can easily be done at any point in the future.

Correct, just suggestions carried forward from another rubygem review request.
Completely up to you to implement. For now though ... I approve this package
and assert that it meets the Fedora packaging guidelines.

Enjoy!

Ok, after thinking about this and having the facts already mentioned I don't
like the idea of renaming upstream however it should be fine both parties to
change the Fedora name to web-virt-control so I have to ask you whether is that
fine with you.

Thanks,

I do not think it makes sense to rename the Fedora package if upstream stays at
the php-virt-control name. Strictly said the name as it is does not break the
Fedora naming guidelines so there is no requirement for it to be changed to
pass the Fedora review. It was just my suggestion to you to rename it upstream
to fulfil the wish of the PHP upstream and to make the name more descriptive.

I do not think it makes sense to rename the Fedora package if upstream stays
 at
the php-virt-control name. Strictly said the name as it is does not break the
Fedora naming guidelines so there is no requirement for it to be changed to
pass the Fedora review. It was just my suggestion to you to rename it upstream
to fulfil the wish of the PHP upstream and to make the name more descriptive.

Tom, I know you mean it good way but considering the fact I did buy a domain on
my own expenses (although hosted on Daniel's server) rendering the project my
'spare time' project I don't like the renaming. The situation would be
different if I didn't have the domain bought for 5 years yet however the
situation is different with me having it already bought.

So is that ok to review it now or what should I do? The reason why I don't like
the idea of renaming the project is already mentioned and I don't want to buy a
new domain just because of the name change as the DNS record matches exactly
the upstream project name.

Robert's version looks good to me. rpmlint passes, packaging looks sane.
Licensing is correct. Installs fine and sample code from docs on website works.

I'd like to see these 3 minor things fixed up before or after importing:

 1. Let's do what the comment says:

   # Remove CFLAGS=... for noarch packages (unneeded)

 2. Don't need 'rm -rf %{buildroot}' in %install:

   http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Packaging:Guidelines#BuildRoot_tag

 3. Don't need to define %{python_sitelib} anymore:

   http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Packaging:Python#Macros

APPROVED

--- Comment #22 from Elio Maldonado Batiz emald...@redhat.com 2011-10-18

The upstream NSS team togther with the Mozilla team has been extremely busy
with the NSS 3.13 update and I have opted not to press this at this time. This
will takes the approval of both NSS and Mozilla developers and issuing
notififications in the development lists. I added some comments to the bug with
links to Fedora and Debian guidelines to support your request. Will add some
more before I bring if up with them. NSS has cannot do anything unless it gets
the buy in from the Mozilla team. NSS makes some strong commitments for binary
compatibility that a change like this one could break.

Having an additional bug against the Mozilla applications would help move this
forward as it will get more attention. The Mozilla applications interact with
NSS via xulrunner which is part of the Personal Security Manager component, aka
PSM. Could I bother you with logging a paralell bug with PSM and relate the two
bugs? Thanks in advance.

In a glance to your last SPEC modifications, I'm ok with your work now.

Since you got your sponsorship from rjones, now you should ask him to formally
review this work and approve it, before you can go on and ask for a Fedora SCM
repository for this project.

Happy Packaging!

There's a few problems with the spec file.

- '%define' should be '%global' throughout.

- What was the reason for Conflicts: selinux-policy-targeted ...?
Could it not be: Requires: selinux-policy-targeted = ... instead?

- What's wrong with just dropping a new file into /etc/sudoers.d/?
Anything in this directory is included, and it avoids the ugly
  %post script rewrite of sudoers.

- Why is /etc/pki/vdsm/keys/libvirt_password not just a regular %config
  file in the %files section?

In general anything that would reduce or eliminate those
huge %pre/%post/%preun/%postun scripts would be a welcome change
and will improve your life because you'll get fewer bug reports
from unexpected user customizations.

SRPM URL: http://public.juankprada.com/smb4k-0.10.10-1.fc16.src.rpm
Description: Smb4K is an SMB/CIFS share browser for KDE. It uses the Samba
software suite to access the SMB/CIFS shares of the local network neighborhood.
Its purpose is to provide a program that's easy to use and has as many features
as possible.

Also, This is my first package and I would like someone to sponsor me to
maintain this package.
