[Bug 1505084] New: Review Request: php-pda-pheanstalk - PHP client for beanstalkd queue

2017-10-21 Thread bugzilla

Bug ID: 1505084
   Summary: Review Request: php-pda-pheanstalk - PHP client for
beanstalkd queue
   Product: Fedora
   Version: rawhide
 Component: Package Review
  Severity: medium
  Priority: medium
  Assignee: nob...@fedoraproject.org
  Reporter: sh...@iwin.ski
QA Contact: extras...@fedoraproject.org
CC: package-review@lists.fedoraproject.org

Spec URL:
https://raw.githubusercontent.com/siwinski/rpms/4b1577ec1c973742b4cb3e4c619f3b7ef785efb8/php-pda-pheanstalk/php-pda-pheanstalk.spec

SRPM URL:
https://siwinski.fedorapeople.org/SRPMS/php-pda-pheanstalk-3.1.0-1.fc26.src.rpm

Description:
Pheanstalk is a pure PHP 5.3+ client for the beanstalkd workqueue. It has
been actively developed, and used in production by many, since late 2008.

Created by Paul Annesley, Pheanstalk is rigorously unit tested and written
using encapsulated, maintainable object oriented design. Community feedback,
bug reports and patches has led to a stable 1.0 release in 2010, a 2.0 release
in 2013, and a 3.0 release in 2014.

Pheanstalk 3.0 introduces PHP namespaces, PSR-1 and PSR-2 coding standards, and
PSR-4 autoloader standard.

beanstalkd up to the latest version 1.4 is supported. All commands and
responses
specified in the protocol documentation for beanstalkd 1.3 are implemented.

based app comes with a bundled version of qxtglobalshortcut. vacuum "core
dumped" with a qt5 compiled qxtglobalshortcut.

You may want to build for Qt5 instead (or at least make Qt4 optional) as Qt4
development is stalled at upstream.

I have submitted the fixes to the SPEC file in the repo.

https://pagure.io/jflory7-rpm-specs/raw/master/f/rpmbuild/SPECS/brightlight.spec
https://pagure.io/jflory7-rpm-specs/raw/master/f/rpmbuild/SRPMS/brightlight-5-1.fc26.src.rpm

Additionally, since the maintainer accepted your patch and cut a new release, I
also updated my SPEC to correspond to v5.

I was able to build this successfully in Koji (F27) and in my COPR.

> %global debug_package %{nil}
No, this is rutning off debug while you really need it.

> URL:https://github.com/multiplexd/%{name}
My personal preference is to have links clickable ;)

> Source0:
> https://github.com/multiplexd/%{name}/archive/v%{version}.tar.gz
Give it meaningful name and you can also simplify it:
%{url}/archive/v%{version}/%{name}-%{version}.tar.gz

> BuildRequires:  libbsd
libbsd-devel is enough

> make %{?_smp_mflags}
%make_build

> rm -rf $RPM_BUILD_ROOT
Not needed

> install -p -m 755 %{_builddir}/%{name}-%{version}/%{name}
> %{buildroot}%{_bindir}
install -p -m 755 %{name} %{buildroot}%{_bindir}/%{name}

---

And the main and big problem is that CFLAGS and LDFLAGS are ignored, you need
to patch Makefile.. Or just stop using makefile ;)

This is what I see from build.log: gcc brightlight.c -o brightlight -O2
-fstack-protector-strong -lbsd

while it should be: gcc brightlight.c -o brightlight -O2 -g -pipe -Wall
-Werror=format-security -Wp,-D_FORTIFY_SOURCE=2 -fexceptions
-fstack-protector-strong --param=ssp-buffer-size=4 -grecord-gcc-switches
-specs=/usr/lib/rpm/redhat/redhat-hardened-cc1 -m64 -mtune=generic -Wl,-z,relro
-specs=/usr/lib/rpm/redhat/redhat-hardened-ld -lbsd

I've created patch for upstream which you can use:
https://github.com/multiplexd/brightlight/pull/1

This will fix problem with debuginfo thing you have.

I'd like to understand how this happen, was thinking to a mistake from me in
above links, but everything seems ok...

The spec URL in comment 1 is the fedora one (without SCL)
The spec from the .src.rpm in the linked URL is the same.

:(

$ wget
https://git.remirepo.net/cgit/rpms/php/pecl/php-pecl-mcrypt.git/plain/php-pecl-mcrypt.spec?id=8d2bbb722d241a029c5f4bc1c647e77be7d6e51b

$ rpmdev-extract php-pecl-mcrypt-1.0.1-1.fedora.7.0.src.rpm
$ diff spec php-pecl-mcrypt-1.0.1-1.fedora.7.0.src/php-pecl-mcrypt.spec

And indeed, fedora-review download the bad spec
Very strange
