[PacketFence-users] Database purge procedure question

2017-05-03 Thread Krzysztof Adamski
Hi All,

I was wondering what everybody does as far as keeping the size of the
database manageable.

Currently we have over 300K nodes in the database, probably half of them
we will not see again.

What database purge policies do other large site use?

Regards,

K

Re: [PacketFence-users] Password reset portal

Theoretically you can send them to a different VLAN, and on this VLAN
have a portal that lets them change the password.

We do this for users that had their account locked for some reason.

I was hoping to find out how you guys handle password resets?

If you have a single 802.1x SSID, and your password expires – you
naturally cannot get ON the wireless network to visit a password reset
portal of some sort.

Obviously you would have to create a second open SSID without internet
and then some sort of portal profile that forces you to hit it
regardless if your device is still ‘registered’ with packetfence.

Any thoughts?

[PacketFence-users] There are no DB handles to use! skipped 0, tried to connect 0

2015-08-28 Thread Krzysztof Adamski
I'm getting the following in my radius log:

Aug 28 06:02:48 pf11 freeradius[21208]: rlm_sql (sql): There are no DB
handles to use! skipped 0, tried to connect 0

I have increased the first num_sql_socks in pf/conf/radiusd/sql.conf
from 5 to 15 yesterday (restarted radiusd, netstat shows 15 connection
for freeradius to db server)
and still today I got this message.
At 6:02AM there is virtually no load on the pf server, what could be
causing this?

Hi Earl,
i think they are more than just apache 2.4 as trouble. What i will do first is to create a new github branch like

I've had similar luck as you on 14.04 which is to say very little. My
first take at troublehooting is that the 12.04 package wants apache
2.2 but 140.4 comes with apache 2.4. So if the package and scripts are
updated to work with apache 2.4 that may get us past the initial errors.
Hey Fabrice, I'd also like to have 14.04 up an running as a supported
