[Paraview] Question about ParaView 3.8.0 and Qt libraries
Hello, I should compile and install ParaView 3.8.0 on a Linux Debian cluster and I have a question about Qt libraries >= 4.5: should I compile and install Qt on every single node or can I install Qt only on master node? in this last case, should I install Qt on a directory shared among every node or can I use the default installing directory (for example: /usr/local/Trolltech/Qt-4.6.2)? [Paraview] How to compile and use ParaView 3.8.0 on Windows XP
Hi Ken, hi all. I read http://paraview.org/Wiki/ParaView:Build_And_Install#Build_ParaViewbut I need more information about compiling and using ParView 3.8.0 on a workstation with windows XP and a single GPU shared amongst the cores: 1) should I install Qt >= 4.5.0? How can I compile it? 2) should I install MS-MPI? where can I find it? 3) on linux I use a command similar to: "mpirun -np 2 pvserver --display: 0.0 --use-offscreen-rendering" to run pvserver in parallel, but on windows I have these questions: - how can I run pvserver in parallel? - how can I/should I specify to share the single GPU amongst the cores? on linux I use the paramenter "--display: 0.0" as explained in: http://www.paraview.org/Wiki/Setting_up_a_ParaView_Server#Sharing_GPUs_Amongst_Processes Thank you very much ___ Powered by www.kitware.com Visit other Kitware open-source projects at http://www.kitware.com/opensource/opensource.html Please keep messages on-topic and check the ParaView Wiki at: http://paraview.org/Wiki/ParaView Follow this link to subscribe/unsubscribe: http://www.paraview.org/mailman/listinfo/paraview
[Paraview] Bug export vrml from ParaView 3.8.0

I'm sorry, I forgot this: MPIEXEC_MAX_NUMPROCS variable must be changed (default value is 2, but we have 64 cores)? [Paraview] How to optimize ParaView compilation
Hi Ken, hi all. I was wondering whether to compile ParaView 3.6.2 to optimize the speed, we only have to set CMAKE_BUILD_TYPE = Release in CCMake Tool, or if you need to set other variables. [Paraview] How to install PV 3.6.2 on Red Hat Enterprise version 4?
Hi Ken, could you please explain us how to compile ParaView 3.6.2 on Red Hat Enterprise 4? Can you list all the rpm packages necessary? In http://paraview.org/Wiki/ParaView:Build_And_Install#Note:_debian_build we can see only the deb packages list for Debian, but obviously they aren't the same on RHEL 4 and we haven't experience on RHEL 4...; moreover, it seems that qt >= 4.3.3 aren't available on RHEL 4. [Paraview] About running ParaView and Pvserver on a workstation
Hi all, if we have a workstation with N processor (on wich we run paraview and pvserver in two separate shells) must we run pvserver in parallel on a number of processors strictly smaller than N? For example, if we have N=4 and in the first shell we run ParaView (with "paraview"), in the other shell can we use maximum 3 processors (with "mpirun -np 3 pvserver") or can we use all processors (with "mpirun -np 4 pvserver")?
