Re: MLB.com archives
hi mark, i've had a good play this morning using the annerheim v texas feed from last nights game, using the texas (krld) gameday audio feed. i cannot whatever i do get real player to open apart from as an embedded player. if i right click in the embedded player i get a context menu, but no option seems useful. it's got things like open link in new window etc. if i click in another part of the window i get something similar but the first option is simply open, which appears to do nothing but freeze the player. i can't get any of the graphic i find using the jaws cursor to do anything. nothing i do seems to get to a point where i can force realplayer to open itself, or that gives me any way of skipping through the archive. email or msn [EMAIL PROTECTED] cheers - kevin - Original Message - From: Marco Curralejo [EMAIL PROTECTED] To: PC audio discussion list. Re: MLB.com archives
Well, just as a note, I was able to bring up the archive only in Windows Media and could find the buttons to make it work with a little work, but not too much. I'm using would assume this will work with either screen reader, but not sure. Did not have time to try to bring up the game in Real Player, but will try when I have more time. An important note, I could only bring up the archive in Windows Media even though I've selected Real Player as my method of choice. The audio really is better. I've done that, but Jaws speech and WinAmp output are on the same control. I've set the volume inside WinAmp to max but Jaws still over powers the music. At 09:10 PM 4/10/04, you wrote: Hello Tony, I recently installed the same sound card, and the same thing happened to me. So I just opened my windows volume control, and found that the controls were all set to 80. In Window Eyes, that means that the setting is quite low, so to achieve maximum volume, I set all the levels to 0, and that took care of the problem. Hope it helps. well, i had a play around with the imbeded player today, and every stream that i played with that was archived opens up in windows media and it appears that there is no way of flicking through the game. you are right tim. when a stream opens up in an imbeded player using real player, you can flick through the program no problems, but it appears to me that you can't do it with the windows media version of this. rather annoying. also, if you look on the mlb.tv side of the mlb.com website, which is what i use, it quite clearly states when your logging into watch a live or archived match that all live streams can be opened up in either windows media or real player, but that all archives will only play through windows media. cheers. marco. - Original Message - From: Tim Grady [EMAIL PROTECTED] To: PC audio discussion list. WDM driver needed
Hello, It is my understanding that installing a WDM driver will sometimes cause a sound card which is not multi channel to function as if it were multi channel. I therefore want to locate and install a WDM driver for my HP 4150-A laptop in hopes of being able to use software speech while doing other things requiring the sound card. Can anyone suggest where I can get such a driver and also please tell me how to install it. I would be happy to try to find something at driverguide.com; unfortunately, that site requires that you identify the characters in a graphic. So I would appreciate suggestions from others on this list. Thanks in advance. Well, I'm not sure anybody reads these but, I've been able to FF and RW through archive games at MLB.com but they only come up in Windows Media. I just used the graphics labeler in Window-eyes, did a find command for the buttons I wanted, routed the mouse pointer did a left click and it worked. The only trouble I had was re-locating some of the graphics after I had used them a few times. It didn't work well, but I did get it to work.
