Re: MLB.com archives

2004-04-11 Thread kevin and emma
hi mark, i've had a good play this morning using the annerheim v texas feed
from last nights game, using the texas (krld) gameday audio feed. i cannot
whatever i do get real player to open apart from as an embedded player. if i
right click in the embedded player i get a context menu, but no option seems
useful. it's got things like open link in new window etc. if i click in
another part of the window i get something similar but the first option is
simply open, which appears to do nothing but freeze the player. i can't
get any of the graphic i find using the jaws cursor to do anything. nothing
i do seems to get to a point where i can force realplayer to open itself, or
that gives me any way of skipping through the archive.

 tim.

when the embedded player opens up, i don't believe you can flick through
the
matches, unless it opens up in the imbedded player with real player as
it's
choice of player. then you should be able to right click on the screen and
tell it to play in real player. if you right click on the imbedded player
and it has used windows media player to play the stream, it doesn't allow
you to open the archive up in windows media player and i believe that
there
is no graphic that allows you to skip through the game, but i'll get
sighted
assistance to find this out for sure and get back to you.

 cheers.

I only get the imbedded players, but they're different. The Realplayer
has
a button which fast forwards through a game but I haven't found one on the
windos player. It is probably there but I'm not sure wich graphic it is
yet. If you can use the external players like you can if you're using
JFW,
you should have full control using Realplayer.

2004-04-11 Thread Charles Adkins
Well, just as a note, I was able to bring up the archive only in Windows
Media and could find the buttons to make it work with a little work, but not
too much. I'm using would assume this will work with either screen reader,
but not sure. Did not have time to try to bring up the game in Real Player,
but will try when I have more time. An important note, I could only bring up
the archive in Windows Media even though I've selected Real Player as my
method of choice. The audio really is better.

also, if you look on the mlb.tv side of the mlb.com website, which is what i
use, it quite clearly states when your logging into watch a live or archived

player, but that all archives will only play through windows media.

WDM driver needed

2004-04-11 Thread Donald L. Roberts
Hello,

It is my understanding that installing a WDM driver will sometimes
cause a sound card which is not multi channel to function as if it were
multi channel.

I therefore want to locate and install a WDM driver for my HP 4150-A
laptop in hopes of being able to use software speech while doing other
things requiring the sound card.

Can anyone suggest where I can get such a driver and also please tell
me how to install it. I would be happy to try to find something at
driverguide.com; unfortunately, that site requires that you identify
the characters in a graphic.

So I would appreciate suggestions from others on this list. Thanks in
advance.

Well, I'm not sure anybody reads these but, I've been able to FF and RW
through archive games at MLB.com but they only come up in Windows Media. I
just used the graphics labeler in Window-eyes, did a find command for the
buttons I wanted, routed the mouse pointer did a left click and it worked.
The only trouble I had was re-locating some of the graphics after I had used
them a few times. It didn't work well, but I did get it to work.

Making Cds With XP

Hello,

I am having a rather strange problem when I attempt to make audio cds using the
facility in Windows XP home edition. The cd comes out fine except for a pop at the
end of the recording. This pop isn't heard when I play the wav files that I record on

offending pop at the end? Any information would be appreciated.
