Winamp, separate volume control, and 2 sound cards

2004-09-04 Thread Jerry Berrier
Hi all,

I know these subjects have been fully discussed, but I'm hoping you can
point me to a resource where I can read how to do two things:
I just bought a Phillips Aurilium 5.1 channel USB sound card. I'd like to
be able to play audio through it while running JFW through my original sound
card on my Gateway desktop computer.
I'm running the latest version of JFW, Windows xp home with sp2.

Also, I just upgraded to the latest version of Winamp, and I cannot seem to
remember how to set it so that when I turn the volume down in Winamp, it
does not affect the JAWS volume.

Thanks for any help or resources.

Catraxx CD and MP3 Cataloguer

2004-09-04 Thread Peter Scanlon
Hi,
I have recenly been expriementing wit this program. It seems pretty good
for this purpose. There are some places where it does not talkl so well
with JFW.

I am wondering if there are other blind users of this product.
If so I would like to correspond to talk about best ways to use it.
How to play files from the track list.
How to navigigate the complex track entry dialogue.\
How to manage the filters and sorts.
and lot more.

I used to have EMusic. I like a lot of the old pop classics and show music.
Unfortunately, Emusic does not cover my musical preferences.

I use Napster, but it's not very accessible. I like the music mix they
provide, so I'm hoping to convince them to become more accessible.

I am using Jaws and I have found Napster and the Real Music store quite
useable. It gets a little tricky when one wants to use these programs to
burn CDs, but obviously there are other options for this purpose.
