Sound Forge 8

2005-03-19 Thread Andrea Sherry
Where in the manual would I find a list of the shortcut keys ie. marking the
beginning and end of a selection used to be left and right parenthesis. However
it appears that this has changed.

Hi Doug and everybody,
As a seasoned peer-to-peer user, I can tell you that I downloaded tons and
tons of great music from original Napster, Morpheus, Winmx and Emule. They
all worked (and Winmx and Emule still work) extremely well, and they are a
great choice if you want something right here and right now. Both rare and
mainstream music can be found rather easily.
If you do prefer subscription sites though, I'd suggest
www.emusic.com/
They have an excellent collection and reasonable prices.
You might also like to have a look at my own webpage,

Installing sf 8.0

2005-03-19 Thread russell Bourgoin

I purchased and finally downloaded sf8.0 and am now faced with a
strange situation. I tried to run the file to install it and after the

it. One time windows update put that on my system and all hell broke
loose. I said no and the whole installation process shut down. What are

Decisions, decisions! Anapod explorer or Muvo?

2005-03-19 Thread Chris Skarstad
Hi. Subject line basically asked the question. I'm hearing some
really contradictory stories here about the program called Anapod Explorer,
which allows you to add, remove and manipulate files on an Apple Ipod using
windows explorer instead of Apple Itunes. According to the documentation,
there *is* support for blind users because most, if not all the menu items
have been given right click menus via the context menu key, and if this is
the case I see no reason why we screen reader users couldn't use it? I
would like to know people's experiences using Anapod explorer and if it's
worth using, or what people think of it? I'm not so much concerned with the
controls of the Ipod shuffle because I have enough sighted assistance that
I could get that going. But I'd like to make sure I have some kind of
accessible software to use before i shell out the money to buy an Ipod
shuffle. There is also the Muvo which I've seen and looks nice as well, so
I'm kind of going back and forth between that and the Ipod Shuffle. So, any
insights would be most certainly appreciated.

Thanks so much.

The short answer from looking at the manual is, no, you can't launch a

the program.

Re: Decisions, decisions! Anapod explorer or Muvo?

2005-03-19 Thread Alf
Chris:
I can't tell you anything about ipod shuffle and anapot explorer, because in
the last moment i bought iriver ifp 799 1 gb player and really i recommend
it to anyone. At the beginning i had a problems with its software and its
accsesibility because i couldn't see the player as a regular usb removable
drive, but after upgrading on to a newer firmware with ums support i use
this thingy every day. Exept very good and easy navigation system between
tracks and folders what really surprised me was qualitty of its recording
features. The built in microphone really records very nice for voice
recordings. However if the signal is to strong than the recording becomes
distorted. But, that's why we have line in jack for what ever line in
device. Its possible to choose between external microphone or line recording
were we can connect a cd player or what ever device. We can also choose a
different recording level for line in which i find very useful, With some
external stereo mick the recording just sounds very nice and clean , and its
possible to record up to 13 hours on a 1 gig. Baterry life is much longer
than on ipod shuffle and it can last untill 30 hours which is also a big +
for iriver.
Before i bought it i was also thinking about creative muvo but when i saw it
hold it in my hands and red reviews about it + technical specs i definitly
went for this small monster.

scheduling/Re: Total Recorder question

2005-03-19 Thread Joanne
I am still hoping someone can please give me directions on how to schedule a
job with t.r. I have asked a few times and know that some of you can do
this independently, but I can't figure out the advanced page where you have
to use the tuner. I would love either a concise tutorial on this program or
just some scheduling directions to get me started. Hope someone will help.

Hi,
I just went to upgrade to 8.0 and only saw a price of 149 dollars
in the shopping cart. I had entered the qualifying serial number. When
do
you actually see a 99 dollar figure. I aborted and figured I'd check here
first, before placing my order by telephone. Just don't want to spend an
extra fifty bucks!
If someone who has been through the process would respond, I'd be
greatful. Thanks, a lot.

Hello, here's the direct link, since it's buried in a nest of other

to upgrade to Sound Forge 8 from any previous version.

Thanks a lot.

Re: Installing sf 8.0

2005-03-19 Thread Steve Pattison
I just downloaded Microsoft.Net 1.1 as instructed. Probably not what you
wanted to hear but I don't think there's any way around this if you want to
install Sound Forge 8. Some other programs requier Microsoft.Net as well
so this isn't unique to Sound Forge.

Re: Decisions, decisions! Anapod explorer or Muvo?

2005-03-19 Thread Chris Skarstad
Hi. Yeah I had heard that a version supporting the shuffle was forthcoming,
but wasn't sure of the release date. I want to get all the information I
can before dropping $200 plus on this thing. I would hate to buy something
that I can't use.

Are you sure that Anapod Explorer supports the Shuffle? A new version was
due out that would support it, but if that has not appeared, it does
not. On Blindtech people seem to like the program.

Re: an accessible subscription music site??????????

2005-03-19 Thread Denis
Hi Doug,

I agree it can be annoying not to be able to get what you want immediately.
But then again, you don't say the shop is bad because you couldn't get your
favourite biscuits from it the day you wanted them. You may quite happily
get them tomorrow. The same is with Winmx an other file-sharing programs.
You can't expect to find absolutely everything in one palce on this earth
smiles. If you want some really hard to find stuff just keep looking for
it. One day it may be there.

Just my thoughts...

Best regards,

Denis

Hi all. I'm curious about something: Why do you have to download and install
Microsoft.NET? Especially, if it may cause problems for some?
