Re: FM transmitters
I couldn't agree more. After you make the slight adjustment, they work great. Not only are they a good low cost alternative, they sound good. You can also use them with batteries, something which could prove helpful. I had one running constantly for about a year and didn't have a bit of trouble with it, accept when the power dropped, they shut off and have to be re-started manually. You can't go wrong with one and my 2 year old grand son could probably hook it up. Chuck - Original Message - From: russell Bourgoin [EMAIL PROTECTED] To: PC audio discussion list. Iriver model H-10C
Are any of you using the Iriver H-10C model? I am able to load and unload Music or MP3 files with no trouble, I can play the Music, I can with a little work get to the FM Radio, that is about what I am able to do. The unit has a small number of buttons about 7 so that simplifies the selections of buttons. Problem is there is no tone or Beep to indicate any changes when you press the buttons. I have only had the unit for about 1 week, so much to learn. It is to early to put in a third party Firmware because of Warranty issues, plus I don't think there is any available. I would look forward to hearing from anyone that is using the Iriver H-10C series of players. Dick - Original Message - From: Jonathan Mosen [EMAIL PROTECTED] To: 'PC audio discussion list. Re: FM transmitters
Reed! Many of us use an FM transmitter and wireless keyboard to work with our computer remotely. The FM transmitter allows us to hear the audio, including software speech from the computer over a standard FM radio and the wireless keyboard allows us to enter commands. With this equipment we can sit on the deck or across the house from the main computer and operate it remotely. The C Crane transmitters are a good low cost option for the FM transmitter part. Instead of an FM transmitter some of us use wireless headphones which come with a transmitter that broadcasts on a dedicated frequency. The Gyration keyboard for $199.00 is a popular option for the keyboard part with reliable service up to 100 feet from the keyboards transmitter.. The FM transmitter or headphone transmitter plugs into where you would plug your computers speakers in and the keyboard plugs into a USB port. Chirp|Chirp|Chirp: It's the Bat, Chirping Bat .Com ! The C Crane adjustment being referred to is not meant to be changed. It's hidden behind a label which has to be peeled off. I've never seen the unit so can't advise more specifically. I suppose it's technically illegal to change the setting and that's why it's set as it is. Maybe they sell the same unit in other countries with a different adjustment. Re: FM transmitters
Hi, If you check very very carefully, there is a small rectangular label in the back of the unit. It is almost undecernable, but it can be peeled off, thus exposing three screw holes. The one closes to the edge is the one you need. You'll need a jeweler's screwdriver, or, at least a very small one. Turn the screw clockwise as far as it will go. Replace the label and you've boosted your output. Not sure about the legality. In my case, it makes the signal reach my driveway, but not beyond. Even full blast I cant't get more than a hundred feet! Hth. RE: FM transmitters
What's the most popular wireless headphone? What kind of distances are you getting out of the wireless headphones and the FM transmitters? Have you heard anything about Blue tooth headphones/keyboards and how their reliability and distances compare to what we are talking about here? Reed -Original Message- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Jerry Richer Sent: December 21, 2005 9:16 AM To: PC audio discussion list. Subject: Re: FM transmitters Reed! (You have to sign up to yahoo! to be able to make your own station). Anyway, has anyone got the rating system to be accesible; or even usable? thanks, Tyler PS: usually, I just listen to the stations that it lists, but I'd like to have my own kustom station (say, I want it mixed: pop, rock, alternitive, etc etc). ___ PC-Audio List Help, Guidelines, Archives and more... http://www.pc-audio.org To unsubscribe from this list, send a blank email to: [EMAIL PROTECTED] This list is a service of MosenExplosion.com. Re: marry christmas
I am writing a me too message? Though, in this case, the wishes are heart felt and truthful, and, now, I am up to date in reading, up to the 21 December, first day of winter in this u s of a place where I live, where in, today, sure doesn't feel like it being 84 degrees--still, MERRY CHRISTMAS to all, and to all a big thanks in all the help that has been manifest all over the place on this list and others like it like blind tech, which is my next big reading project. Sure is one heck of a deal, am having to stay inside because of a heavy cold so what else can I do? Play SOD1.2? That too, or my new sound forge 8.0B which is my Christmas present, making the rest of my reel to reel books into mp3 files which is definitely, pc-audio! :) Thanks! I don't think the adjustment is illegal at all, maybe they just don't want folks messing with them. MP3 Hz's and KBS's
Hi, I am in need of recording material in MP3 format at 44,100 Hz with 128 KBS. I have Sound Forge 5.0, an older version yes but from what I seen the newer versions don't offer much different setting options. In fact when I try to set a 44,100 Hz MP3 at 32 bit, when I save it, it always reverts to 22,000 Hz at 16 bit for some reason. So I am looking for software method of recording MP3's at the required 44,100 Hz and 128 KBS. Any direction would be helpful thanks.
