No Gary. Real alternative will not work for NFL field Pass. In
fact, versions of Real Player prior to 10 will not work, I
 believe.

No problems, but a couple of pains.

In real player, you cannot control its volume independently.
 So
when you decrease real player's volume, you are also decreasing
your screen reader's volume unless you have a second sound card
or are using a hardware synthesizer.

Also, you cannot close Real Player with alt F4. You have to
select the close option from the file menue.

 Hi to all,
I am interested in subscribing to NFL Field Pass offered on
 NFL.com.
Before I do I wanted to make sure that everything about the
 service is
 accessible with a screen reader.
I have read that you use Real Player to listen to the games.
 Since I
have never used real player, is there any problems I should be
 aware of,
or anything I will not be able to access with a screen reader?
I am running Jaws 7.0 with windows XP home.
Any information or advice about the service anyone could give
 me
 would
 be appreciated!
 Thanks,

Looks good, might even try it, but I'm not looking for files with
exact matches in their contents. True, I might have one or two of
those, but different rippers do different things with wav data, and I
might have the same song at two different bit-rates or sample rates,
and this program would certainly not pick those up.

 I
like binaryboy for downloading, and the author is super nice, but if you
have the older version of agent, there's really no need to use anything

I think the difference in .mp3 and data cd's particularly in Easy CD
Creater is not in playability but in playlist management. I don't
believe that the data form supports playlisting while the .mp3 option
does permit you to create and burn a playlist to maintain track grouping
and order.

Re: Using 2 sound cards

2006-09-28 Thread John Moore
So that's how they did it. They edited an .ini file. I hope Jaws 5.10
uses that as I am trying to get JFW to use my C-mMedia card and
everything else onto my Sound Max. I think your best bet is to put
playback on one, then recording on the other. That is the easiest way
of putting JFW onto one and having it not interfere with recording.

 Hello listers,

I have a computer with an on-board RealTech sound card but also have an
 external SoundBlaster Audigy connected.

I am using Jaws 7.1 and want Jaws to use the on-board RealTech sound card
and everything else to go to the external SoundBlaster Audigy.

It used to be possible to do it by editing a file called JFW.INI but Jaws
7.1 does not seem to use JFW.INI.

Does anyone know how this can be done with Jaws 7.1?

Re: mp3 cds vs data cds

2006-09-28 Thread David Tanner
Well, actually a MP3 cd is a data cd. If you want to burn a MP3 cd you choose
to burn a data cd, and the MP3 files are burned to the cd in just the same
manner that data files are because MP3 files are data files.

Can someone help me with a c-media usb sound device.

2006-09-28 Thread Anders Holmberg
Hello!
I hope someone here can help me out with this thing.
I have an usb-microphone from c-media.
I have two questions about it.
FIrst there is a utility called 3d usb sound configuration.
If i have understand it correctly it can make the microphone a sterio mic.
But the utility seems inaccessibla with hal.
Has any of you used it with Jaws or WIndoweyes?
And if so how does this work?

THe next problem i have is when i turn on the sound device i loose all my
windows sounds.
But my speechsynthesizers still speak through my headphones.
I can not in the world understand why.
I have configured the sound not to go through the c-media device.
So i hope i can get some help here.
/Anders.
