Re: query about using bit torrent

2006-11-16 Thread Christopher Chaltain
Sorry, I haven't been following this thread, and you probably already
got this question answered, but when I set up µTorrent recently, I went
to the following URL http://www.utorrent.com/setup_guide.php and
starting with the heading "Manually forwarding a port" you can get
pretty explicit instructions on setting up port forwarding.

 Hey Simon,

Got it! But it says that the port that it needs to use isn't open.
 I'm
going into some muddy territory for me here. How do you open and
 map
 ports?
The exact number it wants to use is 23474. Also it has something
 for
 the
upload and download speeds and judging from the test I ran the
 results
 came
back that I normally run anywhere between 384 k for uploads and 512
 k
 for
downloads. Don't quite get all of this just yet.

 Hi Trace,

This may be the problem you're having it's driving me crazy too. Do you
 get
 the following error message?

Bit torrent error dialog aborting the torrent because it couldn't
 connect
to the tracker while not connected to any peers.

It also may be a situation where you may have to open a port so that
 the
torrents can download properly. If anybody knows anything about port
mapping and how to open ports I'd sure like to learn how to do it.

hi. Is it possible that for some reason the paypal site just didn't

purchasing replya A/V problem

2006-11-16 Thread kevin and emma
hi all, i want to buy this program after listening to jonathan mosen's
review and using the demo version. however, i've run into a major problem
with the vendors purchasing process. as i understand the set up, you can pay
via paypal, or using a credit card. the only credit card i have is american
express, which i tried and the site rejected (no problem with my am exp
account i checked to make sure). but i'd actually prefer to use paypal, but
i can't do that either. when i try using the paypal button on the
billing/payment page, i get an error message saying i haven't entered a
credit card number etc. well of course i havent! i want to use paypal! am i
missing something obvious? or have others had anything similar happen to
them? i've sent an email to their customer services but who knows when i'll
get a response. smile.

2006-11-16 Thread Tim Grady
Has this happened to any of you'll? Ever since I installed ie7 on my system
a few of the web pages in realplayer don't seem to work, for example the
test connection and add a device web pages.
