audio on laptops
Hey guys, I have been a D.J. for 13 years or so. I am now joining my colleagues and will start to D.J. using a laptop as my source of music with a program called Serato. It's decently accessible with Jaws after reclassing a window, labeling a hand full of graphics, and assigning a custom highlight. A few questions: 1. Any scripters out there or if you know of any scripters out there, please get in touch with me. 2. I am thinking about buying a new laptop. any suggestions? I am thinking about a del ensporon 1705. I have also heard some good things about IBM thinkpads and Toshiba laptops. Any recommendations either way? 3. All of these laptops come with integrated audio. is the audio quality decent? would it do a good job of analog to digital conversion when ripping vinyl to MP3s? BTW, Serato comes with it's own USB interface that acts as a sound card for the program. So the software would not be using the sound from the laptop. The laptop's sound would just be responsible for jaws and what ever ripping I would do in sound forge. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Feel free to forward this message where ever appropriate. Thanks all! RE: PC Audio And Comcast Again
Agreed, that is exactly what I did as I got tired of having to deal with Comcast's flakey servers and forget tech support. The last time I sent an email to their tech support, it bounced due to their mail box being too full. Changed my subscription to use my Gmail address and problem solved. I had to do the same thing with my BCT subscription quite some time ago as well. --Warmest regards, --Rick Alfaro [EMAIL PROTECTED] -Original Message- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Kelly Pierce Sent: Wednesday, February 14, 2007 5:13 AM To: PC audio discussion list. 160 KBPS divided by two: 80 megs. 80 times 12 is 960, a bit less than 1000 megs.
