Stage research sfx 5.6
Hi there everyone, I'm getting into sound design for theatres, and I just finished and successfully ran my first sound design this last weekend. I had a few questions, has anyone ever done sound design for a play, and if yes, have you used stage research sfx. If th is is the case, how did ou get it to work with a screen reader. If you didn't use sfx, what sound cue software did you use? Thanks. Ok I've now tried this internet tv program. It works well but whe I have to do is to write click on the station I want to hear and then type w. I just wrote to the author asking him if he might put in a hot key or just allow us to hit enter on the station to get it to come on. Pretty much every country is represented and there are lots of interesting streams to listen to. As far as Porn tv I haven't found any at all. Re: combining mp3 files
I'd advise against using Gold Wave, Sound Forge, etc. for this purpose because of the inevitable quality loss of uncompressing and recompressing. I believe there's a program called MP3 Merge somewhere which will accomplish this without additional quality loss. bruce -- Bruce Toews Skype ID: o.canada E-mail and MSN/Windows Messenger: [EMAIL PROTECTED] LiveJournal: http://brucetola.livejournal.com Radio Show and Podcast: http://www.totw.net Web Site (including info on my weekly commentaries): http://www.ogts.net Info on the Best TV Show of All Time: http://www.cornergas.com On Tue, 24 Apr 2007, richard claypool wrote: Hi, goldwave has a merge function. I don't klnow. My main question would be are these supported by Real Alternative. These meaning the extensions some of the stations use. I have used both Real POlayer and Real Alternative and came back to Real Player because it wouldn't play my home state's radio station that I like to hear in the mornings. jBtw just incase people are interested the program is calle Music with Don Woods and it is on from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. Mst. Hello Melissa, I won't try and tell you what to do, but I would like to make a sajustion. Create a new folder, then go in to one of your audio books, do a control-a to sullect all. Then do a control-c to coppy to clipboard. Then do a control-v to coppy all of the mp3 files in to the new folder. Then do a control-a to sullect them all agin, and hit inter and Windows Media Player will automadicly begin playing all of them for you. If you want to skip ahead, do a control-f to skip ahead, and a control-b to go back, and there you are! I do this with my music files all of the time. It works grate! That is one way to combined them all together. yes but there's a pause as the next mp3 is loaded and these are short files. it would be very anoying to listen to. rick - Original Message - From: John Price [EMAIL PROTECTED] To: PC audio discussion list. pc-audio@pc-audio.org Sent: Tuesday, April 24, 2007 9:02 PM Subject: Re: combining mp3 files It will work with that to as well. An mp3 file is an mp3 file, rather it's in the form of an audio book or music. It is still a groop of mp3 files so it will still work. Some of the streams may not come on if the station is down. I think this feller has done a great job. Pick this tv software up at: http://www.jlc-software.com It's freeware. Re[3]: Jlc's Internet TV Program
Not to many as far as your local chanels probably but I did find a good variety for the us including some news and weather chanels and some movie chanels. Canada was really impressive with many of the cbc chanels and others. Australia had a number of chanels. I haven't looked at the UK but with 1400 chanels in his data base you should be able to find something that will entertain you I'm sure. On most of the ones I tried the quality seemed good and my sighted wife reported that the video was clear. *** REPLY SEPARATOR *** On 4/24/2007 at 9:27 PM Mike Pietruk wrote: ok! Tom From: Ibby Karbhari [EMAIL PROTECTED] To: pc-audio@pc-audio.org Subject: BBC NEWS | Entertainment | Radio stations face analogue axe Date: Thu, 19 Apr 2007 21:54:11 +0100 Hi folks, if this happens, life won't be worth living! I love FM and truly hate DAB here in the UK! BBC NEWS | Entertainment | Radio stations face analogue axe BBC NEWS Radio stations face analogue axe Traditional analogue radio stations could be facing extinction under proposals put forward by the communications regulator Ofcom. It is suggesting a review of AM stations in 2009 and of FM services in 2012, or when digital use accounts for 50% of the total, whichever is sooner. It also wants analogue licences, up for renewal from 2009, to be extended - but with a two-year notice of termination. Ofcom says the analogue bandwidth taken up by radio could be put to better use. Costs and benefits The regulator is predicting 90% of all radio listening will be via digital platforms by 2017 and is launching a consultation on how best to use the analogue signal. Current licences are set to expire between 2009 and 2027, depending on the date of issue. An Ofcom spokesman said: There is no date set for switching off analogue radio signals but with the increased use of digital we need flexibility in the spectrum. Any such changes are a matter for government and parliament but they may wish to consider how to allow Ofcom to achieve common end-dates for all FM and AM licences. It added: Any reviews would include a full assessment of the costs and benefits, taking into account the needs of consumers, including the most vulnerable members of society. Ofcom believes the freed-up spectrum could be used for mobile television, more digital radio, more community radio services or other new technologies. The consultation will end in June.
