At-Large Recorder 2.3 for John

2007-10-30 Thread petrakigianos-giasou
At-Large Recorder is now up to version 2.3. It is made by
Applian Technologies who make the Replay AV 8 application which
works great with JAWS 8.

To learn more about ALR 2.3 go to:

http://www.applian.com

And look for the At-Large recorder link on the website. They
have a user guide.

The SlingBox hardware device is made by another company and you
must have this device in order for ALR 2.3 application to work
for you.

You can call Sling Media at:

1-877 or is it 1-866-GO-SLING for more information.

The website is:

http://www.slingmedia.com

Sling tech support can help you set it up the SlingBox device.
Is your satellite or cable box near your computer so you can
hook it up with the neccessary cables?

I did it by myself so I know it can be done.

On the blind cool tech site someone did a podcast on the
Slingbox.

Go to:

http://www.blindcooltech.com

You need to know how to open a port (port forward) within your
router. If you can't do it Sling media can do it for you or get
assistance.

Each SlingBox has its own unique IP Finder address.

You need broadband internet connection.

This project is for the geeks.

Re: A sony disk problem:

2007-10-30 Thread Adrian Spratt
Check the Amazon webpage for that CD. I recently learned there that another
Sony CD given me by a friend is risky to play on a computer. It's due to the
company's efforts to protect against unlawful copying.

I have a disk produced by sony, I'm attempting to rip but can't because it
keeps wanting to install Quick time player. I remember reading about
 these
quite awhile ago. it's title, by fiona Apple. It played all right on all
of my CD players but not the drive on the computer. Any thoughts on how
 to
 rip this thing? thanks

I believe you're right. Not only can't I rip it, I can't even seem to play
it on the computer. It plays well in the car, though.

Re: A sony disk problem:

2007-10-30 Thread DJ DOCTOR P
High Albert,
You can play and rip that SONY CD on your computer.
Here is how.
Step 1, insert the CD in to your CD and or DVD drive, and then wait for it
to load.
Step 2. go in to your start menu, and open Windows Media player.
Step 3. Tab over to the now playing button.
You will hear JAWS say, Context menu.
Step 4. Scroll down to your D drive or however your computer is sat up.
Your should see or hear the name of your CD being displade.
Windows Media Player will say, play Johnny Cash-d.
Step 5. Click or press inter on it, and it will start playing for you.
Step 6. If you want to rip it, first do a control-s to stop the CD from
playing.
Tab over to the start rip button and hit the space bar or inter, and wolla!
There you are!
I hope this helps.
If not, call me.
386-269-0076.
  John

NBA audio online

2007-10-30 Thread Scott Blanks
Hey folks,

Are the NBA broadcasts being streamed through the NBA's official site? If
so, I am not finding it. Or, have they moved it to a different address, or
simply discontinued it? I'm stumped.

Mike,

I really did blank out on that one. I think I searched on the NBA site for
everything except the name of the service, audio league pass.

Your help and patience is much appreciated,
Scott

 Same link as last season:

 NBA.com Audio League Pass
 http://www.nba.com/insideticket/alp_schedule.html

At this time, use the same login id and password as last season, and
 access is currently free.

Keep in mind that with all the various services throughout the sports
year, links appear for the most part to remain unchanged from season to
 season.
So, once the season is over, don't delete your saved links as keeping them
will make things easier come the next year.

Queuing up a file

2007-10-30 Thread G. McFarlane
Hi
I'm producing a concert in an old folks home and wish to have all the music and
video files easily accessible. We're showing some files on a projection screen
and I would like to have a program like Windows Media Player on screen with a
nice picture in view all the time but would like to use keypresses to move from
one file to the next without the file folder appearing on the screen. I also
wish each file to stop when it is finished and not run into the next one until
I'm ready to call it. Any ideas.

Creative Zen 4gb mp3 player

2007-10-30 Thread G. McFarlane
Hi
Can anyone tell me if this range of mp3 players, the Creative Zen with 4 8 or
16 gb of memory an SD slot, radio and microphone, is accessible. Even if it
doesn't talk can the files be navigated through easily? Will rock box work with
it?
Regards.
