To be honest, if it aint broke don't fix it.

You can leave the jitter correction on but you will find that it slows
things down.

Subject: CDex ripping method settings

Hi to all,
I was looking around in my CDex settings and found some options I was not
sure which one to choose.
In the CD drive settings I found a combo box that lets you set the rip
method.
By default, standard is chosen, but here are the other choices.

* Paranoia, overlay only
* Paranoia, no verify
* Paranoia, no scratch repair
*Paranoia, full

Basically you have standard and paranoia as your choices.
But with paranoia, you can turn off some of its features, or leave it at
paranoia full, which would include all paranoia features.
I am just looking to get the best rip I can with as few as errors as
possible.
I do have the check box checked for jeter errors, but wondered if using the
paranoia rip method would also help.
Could someone tell me what it means to verify when ripping a CD, and what
overlay is?

Besides using the standard ripping method, I was considering trying the
paranoia, no verify or the paranoia full.

But I just need some information about these settings first.

Thanks for any help.
Chris

Re: recording my voice

2008-01-21 Thread Jerry Richer
Audrey, keep in mind that any software program I know of that you
choose to record your voice will give you the same audio quality. The
difference in the price of these programs relates to the features they have
and not the audio quality of the recordings. The $250 Sound Forge and the
$40 Gold Wave will both produce recordings of the same quality.
The secret is in your Sound Card but whatever you happen to have will
probably produce recordings so good that most no-one could hear the
difference between it and one that costs several hundreds of dollars.

Audrey, unless things have changed, you can only record a couple of minutes of
audio with sound recorder, so if you have a lengthy project, you have to keep
appending to the end of the recording. the main thing is to have a program that
is
efficient to save you time.

Testers needed with Applian Paypal Order form

2008-01-21 Thread petrakigianos-giasou
Hi
Situation is I cannot find this continue.gif button on the
Replay Music order form in order to use the Paypal payment
option in order to pay using Paypal funds.

Ordering with a credit card is no issue. I did a podcast on
this. This issue with the continue.gif button is probably on
every Applian order form.

So can you order with Paypal there? I use JAWS 9. I did check
and change my insert v settings to see if I could find this
continue.gif button to be taken to the Paypal log in screen
but I cannot locate this continue button.

Response from Applian. They definitely trying to fix this.

Finding the continue.gif in order to...

The image
is named continue.gif. Click that button and you are given
the PayPal option
on the next page. It will take you to a page on the PayPal
server that
includes a PayPal order form and a PayPal login if you already
have an account. I've
tested the buttons and they do work normally. Please let me
know if you are
 still having trouble.

---

The order form page to test is:

https://applian.securesites.com/order_paypal.php?pkg=RARNreferral=

---

If one looks at the source code of the page you will see:

 src=images-new/buttons/continue.gif alt=Buy Now //td

Is this not the Buy Now button the continue.gif image?

I press my ENTER keyboard key on this Buy Now button. I then
am taken to a new page at:

https://applian.securesites.com/order_cardinfo_paypal.php

Now I see on this new page a Buy With Paypal button.

Pressed my ENTER key on this Buy With Paypal button and it
thinks I want to use a credit card. Pop up message appears with
an OK button.

The source code here on this page for the Buy With Paypal
button is:

input name=Is_Paypal type=image
id=Is_Paypal src=images2/PaypalExpress.gif alt=Buy with
PayPal align=middle width=145 height=42

---

If I am in error please tell me so. I hope I am. Tell me and
others your experience in this.

Thank you.
Petro

Keyboard recommendations?

2008-01-21 Thread Scott Treeman
Hi folks,
my name is Scott Treeman, and at present, I have two keyboards in my
studio, but neither of them have a feature I'm looking avidly for! That being,
the ability to control the amount of vibrato and pitch bend in such patches as
flutes, trumpets, saxes etc. I presently have a Yamaha Clavanova (cvp/94) and
a Casio keyboard, but neither of them have this feature. Does anyone know of a
plug-in or extra attachment I could use to achieve the same effect? looking
forward to your responses! Best regards, Scott C. Treeman. [EMAIL PROTECTED]

edirol question

2008-01-21 Thread Judy W

Does anyone know how to make sure you create a new file on the edirol r-09?
I want to make sure the individual conference sessions are in separate
files.

Thanks,
Judy
